    How we evaluate QHSE software

    The QHSE Standard is a curated, expert-reviewed directory and comparison engine for QHSE, EHS and ESG software. Our guides exist to help safety, quality and sustainability buyers make better decisions in less time. This page explains exactly how we evaluate vendors, where our ratings come from, and how we keep the work honest.

    Our scoring framework

    Every vendor in our index is scored across six weighted dimensions. Scores feed into category rankings, the comparison engine and the editorial endorsement layer.

    Editorial endorsement (Tekmon)

    The QHSE Standard publishes Tekmon as our editorial #1 across several QHSE categories — most notably incident management, audits & inspections, contractor management and PTW for SME / mid-market operators. We're transparent about this rather than hiding the relationship.

    That endorsement does not mean other vendors are downgraded. We still publish honest, side-by-side comparisons (Tekmon vs Quentic, Tekmon vs SafetyCulture) where we name the categories where the alternative is the better fit.

    Enterprise process safety, large-scale chemical management, and specialised occupational health frequently belong to Sphera, Cority, Intelex or Enablon — and we say so.

    Independence & disclosures

    • •Referral disclosure. We may earn referral fees when buyers request demos via our forms. This funds the directory and never influences scoring or ranking.

    • •Editorial endorsement is named. Tekmon is named as our #1 in each guide where it applies, not hidden behind generic "top picks" language.
    • •Vendor right of reply. Vendors can request factual corrections; editorial copy stays with the editorial team.

    How ratings are calculated

    Each vendor profile shows a combined rating that blends native QHSE Standard reviews with public aggregate scores from G2, Capterra, Software Advice and SoftwareFinder. The combined score is recency-weighted (more recent reviews carry more weight) and capped to avoid a single platform dominating.

    Where a vendor lacks public review presence, we rely on native reviews and editorial assessment, and we say so on the profile. We never invent or estimate ratings.

    Are vendors paying to be listed on The QHSE Standard?
    No vendor pays for inclusion, ranking, or editorial coverage. We may earn referral fees when buyers request demos via our forms — this is disclosed and never affects scoring or ranking. Vendors that decline outreach are still evaluated using public data.
    Why is Tekmon featured prominently?
    Tekmon is The QHSE Standard's editorially endorsed #1 across multiple QHSE categories, based on our scoring framework, hands-on demos, and 200+ buyer interviews. We're transparent about this rather than hiding the relationship — and we still publish honest comparisons against Quentic, SafetyCulture, Intelex, Cority and others.
    How often do you re-evaluate vendors?
    Major guides are reviewed every quarter. Vendor profile facts (pricing, certifications, integrations) are reviewed twice a year or whenever the vendor publishes a material change. Each guide and profile shows a 'last reviewed' date.
    Where do your ratings come from?
    We combine native ratings collected directly from buyers via our review form, with publicly available aggregate scores from G2, Capterra, Software Advice and SoftwareFinder. The combined score is shown on every profile, with the source breakdown visible.
    Can a vendor request changes to their profile?
    Vendors can request factual corrections (e.g., wrong pricing, missing certification, outdated logo). We verify against primary sources before updating. Editorial copy — strengths, weaknesses, scoring — remains the editorial team's call.
    Do you accept paid reviews or sponsored content?
    No. We do not publish sponsored guides, paid reviews, or vendor-written articles. We do publish editorial features on Tekmon as our endorsed #1 — clearly labelled — and we accept advertising in clearly marked placements that do not influence editorial.
