Which requirements should drive the decision?
The clearest published difference is occupational health. Cority describes clinical employee health records, medical surveillance, exposure history, case management and industrial-hygiene sampling on its own platform. Sphera's Health and Safety suite page lists risk assessment, incident management, management of change, behaviour-based safety, actions, training, contractor safety, analytics, audits and data collection, and no occupational-health application. Sphera's published emphasis is reporting reach (mobile, touchscreen and kiosk, with anonymous options) and change control, with environmental, corporate sustainability and LCA products scoped separately. Put Cority first when regulated health records must sit with EHS data, and Sphera first when incident intake and MOC governance across many sites drive the purchase. No price amount was found for either; Cority publishes only the structure of its pricing.

- Occupational health clinicians and industrial hygienists must work in the same system as safety, with medical records hidden from supervisors.
- Exposure sampling results should feed surveillance programmes and incident follow-up without a separate health system.
- You want the recurring fee fixed for all employees under Cority's Enterprise model and a written list of what the subscription includes.
- High-hazard permits with conflict monitoring are needed from the same vendor.

Cority's FAQ, read on 25 September 2026, says its health suite includes employee health records with medical surveillance, exposure history and case management, alongside industrial-hygiene sampling and exposure monitoring, and that enterprise deployments are phased, starting with priority modules, with Cority's teams handling migration, configuration and integration. myCority records incidents, inspections and observations offline. The electronic permit-to-work product offers mobile templates, multi-step approvals and real-time conflict monitoring, and the safety menu also lists Management of Change, industrial ergonomics and contractor management. Pricing has two parts: a subscription committed for an initial three-year term (Standard grows with users and modules; Enterprise is a fixed fee covering all employees; both carry an annual uplift) and a one-time implementation fee set in a Statement of Work. The subscription is said to include 24/7 helpdesk, three major platform updates a year, test and production environments, penetration testing, a customer success manager and storage, and pre-configured Essentials packages exist for defined needs.
Consider Sphera when…
- Many sites and contractors must report without a named account, from shared kiosks or touchscreens as well as phones.
- Management of change is a primary requirement and you want template-based workflows with central review rather than building them.
- Site environmental data, corporate carbon reporting or product life-cycle assessment are later requirements you want from the same vendor, each scoped as its own product.

SpheraCloud Health and Safety Management, checked on 25 September 2026, comprises Risk Assessment, Incident Management, Management of Change, Behavior-Based Safety, Actions, Training, Contractor Safety, Analytics, Audits and Data Collection. Incident reporting reaches the workforce by mobile, touchscreen or kiosk, and First Report accepts anonymous entries. The MOC application offers out-of-the-box configuration, industry and best-practice templates, predefined workflows, centralised reviews and approvals, and status reports on high-risk and frequent change requests. Behaviour-based observations can be captured offline; offline incidents and approvals are not documented. Actions carry due reminders and overdue escalation. Environmental Accounting, Corporate Sustainability, LCA software and Sphera Control of Work are separate products, and the 45-day LCA for Experts trial is not an EHS trial.

Enter a noise-exposure sample above your internal limit and follow it into health surveillance and a site action.
Acceptance evidence: Cority: record the industrial-hygiene sample, show the surveillance case opened for the exposed worker and a supervisor denied the clinical record. Sphera: ask which quoted application stores the sample and the health follow-up; if none is named, record occupational health as open scope. In both, show the corrective action and its owner.
Take an anonymous near-miss report from a shared kiosk to a closed action with an overdue step.
Acceptance evidence: Sphera: submit through First Report on a kiosk, show which roles can see reporter details, let the action pass its due date and inspect the escalation. Cority: show the equivalent intake route in the quoted configuration (anonymous reporting was not established in our record), then reject a weak closure in both.
Run a change request for a new solvent that needs a permit on first use.
Acceptance evidence: Sphera: run MOC with a missing approval and show what the predefined workflow prevents; the permit belongs to Sphera Control of Work, so have it quoted or mark it open scope. Cority: raise the change in its Management of Change application and issue the permit with a refused first approval and a detected conflict. Export both histories.

Keep the decision open if Sphera answers occupational-health requirements only at portfolio level, if offline work beyond observations is assumed for Sphera or beyond incidents, inspections and observations for Cority, or if a permit step belongs to Sphera Control of Work while only Health and Safety is quoted. Neither record establishes a numeric price, an implementation duration, hosting regions or offline permit approval, and the subscription inclusions Cority lists should appear in the order form.
Align the proposals
For Cority, choose Standard or Enterprise explicitly, get the three-year subscription, annual uplift and one-time implementation Statement of Work as separate lines, ask whether an Essentials package covers your first phase, and confirm the stated inclusions. For Sphera, list each Health and Safety application, users, kiosk devices, datasets, migration, interfaces, support and renewal, and quote Control of Work, Environmental Accounting, Corporate Sustainability or LCA only where needed. Compare the same three-year scope.
