- Population: all 83 platforms in the QHSE Standard catalog as of 2026-07-31.
- Only publicly published entry prices are used. “Contact us” and “custom pricing” count towards transparency statistics but never towards medians.
- Annual list prices are divided by 12. Non-USD prices use a fixed FX snapshot (GBP 1.27, EUR 1.08, AUD 0.65) so figures stay stable between updates.
- Entry price is the lowest publicly advertised tier — not the price a mid-market buyer typically pays after modules, implementation and support.
- Per-seat, per-device and flat-fee models are reported separately; mixing them would distort the median.

Why do so many EHS vendors hide their pricing?
Only 47% of the 83 platforms we track publish any price. Opacity concentrates in enterprise-sold categories — ESG & Sustainability, Process Safety and Risk & Compliance — where deals are module-scoped and negotiated per seat band.
Is per-user pricing cheaper than a flat platform fee?
It depends on headcount. The median flat platform fee is $200 per month, which beats a $15/user/month seat licence above roughly 13 users. Below that, per-seat licensing is usually cheaper.
What does lone worker or fleet safety software cost?
These are billed per connected device or vehicle, not per seat. The median is $25.40 per device per month, typically with hardware bought or rented separately.
What hidden costs should I budget beyond the licence?
Implementation and configuration (often 20–50% of year-one spend), data migration, integration work, admin training, and premium support tiers. Enterprise EHSQ suites also price modules separately, so the quoted seat rate rarely covers the full scope.
