Where the two scopes differ
Both products let a hiring client set requirements for contractors and track whether they are met, and the two records differ in how much each documents beyond that. The ISNetworld record describes a managed service: a review team checks submitted documents against client requirements, requirements are configured by location or risk, and a contractor can keep one record for several connected clients. It also lists insurance review with variance tools, imports from third-party data providers, a worker app called Empower with a readiness check, and optional cybersecurity and sustainability reviews. The ComplyWorks record, drawn from Veriforce Canada's pages, describes one product that covers requirements at company, worker, site or project level, hours tracking, orientations and training sign-offs, incident and corrective action tracking, bulletins with acknowledgement tracking, expiry alerts and time-bound exemptions. It says requirements can be adapted by province.
The records are written to different levels of detail. For ISNetworld they separate the subscriber roles (contractor or supplier, hiring client, Contractor Operator and internal training or records) and the review services (document review, a separate implementation assessment). For ComplyWorks they are generic: the reviewed pages show no screens, scoring rules, report formats or data fields, and the record says it is unclear how contractor evaluation is scored. Ownership is also different. The ComplyWorks record shows a Veriforce Canada product with sister products listed on the shared site, and no acquisition terms, so it asks which features belong to ComplyWorks in your contract. ISNetworld is described as the platform of a company that shares its name, with its own service boundaries.
Cost is explained differently. ISNetworld has no amount on the reviewed pages, but they state the basis: contractors and suppliers pay an annual fee plus a one-time setup fee that follows the three-year average workforce and country, hiring clients pay annually per global region, and additional countries or roles can need further subscriptions. The ComplyWorks record shows no amount, plan or trial and asks who pays, because hiring clients and contractors may be charged differently. On field use, the ISNetworld record says worker access through Empower does not establish a disconnected check; the ComplyWorks record does not describe a mobile app, an API or security attestations at all.

When each is the safer first demo
Start with ISNetworld (ISN) when
ISNetworld is the safer first demo when contractors already hold records in a shared network and the question is how review findings reach the hiring decision. Submit an incomplete policy in a demo account and ask to see the finding, the contractor's correction and the re-review trail, then configure two sites with different requirements for one contractor. Keep the review finding and your own approval visibly apart, because the record says review is not proof of safe work.
Start with ComplyWorks when
ComplyWorks is the safer first demo when the requirement is on the site: hours, orientation and follow-up for a Canadian workforce under province-specific rules. Define one site's requirement set, onboard a contractor and a worker, then show an expiring document alert and a granted exemption. Ask the vendor to name which module each step belongs to, since sister products appear on the same site.
A two-week evaluation plan
Ask ISNetworld (ISN)
- List the annual fee, the setup fee, currency and taxes for each region and each contractor country, with Contractor Operator or internal training accounts as separate lines.
- Ask which findings come from document review, which need an implementation assessment and which stay with your own site inspection.
Ask ComplyWorks
- Name the modules, user types and sites in scope, and which features belong to sister products. Ask who pays, the term, data location, single sign-on set-up and export options.
- Ask for the scoring rules for contractor evaluation, the questionnaires and a sample report, since none is itemised on the pages reviewed.
Week 1, the contractor path. Put the same contractor through each product against a named site's requirements, introduce one missing or unacceptable document, and record who is told, what the worker sees and what the hiring client sees. Then give a worker an expired qualification and check how it appears. Neither record establishes a free trial, so request a vendor-run environment with test contractors and agree the data first.
Week 2, change and exceptions. Change a requirement after a contractor has qualified and see what is re-reviewed. Approve a time-bound exemption in each and check what is recorded about the reason and who approved it. In ComplyWorks, walk an incident and a near miss to a closed corrective action and send a bulletin to one site. In ISNetworld, test a lost connection with the worker app and your site system. End with each vendor's fee statement for your regions, written down against what you saw.
What the records do not establish
ISNetworld (ISN)
- A universal subscription amount, or a free self-service trial.
- A disconnected qualification check.
- That the Empower readiness status is a site authorisation, or that a document review shows work is safe in practice.
- That subcontractor management is included without a Contractor Operator subscription.
ComplyWorks
- A price, plan or trial terms.
- Mobile access, offline use, an API, integrations or security attestations.
- How contractor evaluations are scored, or what a report contains.
- Anything about Veriforce group products outside Canada or about the sister products.
Neither product
- Which product leads to better contractor performance or fewer incidents: no outcome data was reviewed.
- Implementation effort, support quality or total cost for your contractor base.
