Which requirements should drive the decision?

Editorial interpretation of the linked vendor documentation, checked . These priorities and demo tasks are recommendations; no comparative product test was performed.

    Consider ISNetworld when…

    • Your contractors work for many hiring clients and you want their fee to stay the same as connections grow, accepting that it follows each firm's whole headcount instead.
    • Many of your contractors may already report in ISNetworld: ISN publishes a list of its hiring clients that can be searched by industry and country, so check your sector before choosing.
    • You want the vendor's document review kept visibly apart from your own approval, which is how ISN's review disclaimers divide the responsibility.
    Published scope

On 22 October 2026 ISN's FAQ and pricing panel described a subscription bought by both sides. A contractor or supplier pays a yearly fee and a one-time setup fee, both following its three-year average headcount and its countries of operation; a hiring client pays a yearly fee for each global region it uses. The FAQ calls the price all-inclusive, whatever the number of tools used or clients connected, and the contractor agreement lets a company give access to as many of its own staff as it needs. ISN's review team checks submitted insurance certificates, written programmes and training records against regulatory and client requirements. Its disclaimers present those results as guidance and leave the decision to engage with the hiring client. A contractor that manages its own subcontractors in the platform needs a separate Contractor Operator subscription.

    Consider Avetta when…

    • Most of your contractors work for few clients, or their fee should follow the risk of the work they do for you: Avetta names connections and risk, not headcount, as its pricing basis.
    • You want worker readiness in the same network as company prequalification: Avetta sells worker products charged per seat, with requirements set by each worker's role and location.
    • You want written turnaround targets for document, insurance and audit review in your client contract.
    Published scope

On 22 October 2026 Avetta's plans page listed a Directory plan with no client connection and three client-connected plans, Standard, Plus and Advanced, priced by number of connections and by the risk level of the project or trade. The checks build up by plan: essential business verification on Standard, insurance and injury-and-illness verification from Plus, and a supplier safety compliance audit on Advanced. The supplier agreement, last updated on 1 October 2026, charges an activation fee and a yearly subscription, adds charges for new connections, client sites, trades that change the risk classification and worker-product seats, and renews every 12 months. It also says most audits are desktop reviews of the documents a supplier submits. A service level addendum to Avetta's client contracts, last updated on 25 January 2024, sets targets of two business days to verify prequalification documents and insurance certificates and ten for a manual audit, on a commercially reasonable efforts basis.

Run these three tasks in both demos

    1. Ask each vendor to take a fictional ten-person subcontractor with one hiring client to the price screen, then add a second client, a new trade and ten workers.

Acceptance evidence: Record what each asks before it quotes: headcount and countries at ISNetworld; connections, service evaluation answers and trade at Avetta. Get the yearly amount, setup or activation fee, currency and tax in writing for each step. A price that cannot be shown before payment is an open item, not a pass.

    2. Submit an expired insurance certificate and an incomplete written programme for one test contractor connected to two of your sites.

Acceptance evidence: Time each review against what the vendor commits to in writing: Avetta's client addendum states targets, so ask ISNetworld for its own. Note who is told, what the contractor sees and how its status changes at each site. Record the review result separately from your approval decision.

    3. Check one worker against a named site and role, then change the role.

Acceptance evidence: Use ISNetworld's Empower app view of jobsite requirements and compliance status, and the Avetta worker product named in the quote. Show which requirements change with the role, what the site sees when the phone has no connection, and whether the change adds a seat, a fee or only a requirement.

    Keep the decision open if…

Keep the decision open if either vendor cannot give a written amount for your contractor base, if your main contractors already belong to the other network and would pay twice, or if the quoted level of checking (document review, insurance review or audit) is not the one your sites need. No comparative review speed, accuracy or contractor take-up was measured.

    Align the proposals

Give both vendors the same regions, sites, trades and a sample of contractors by headcount and number of clients. Ask ISNetworld for the hiring-client fee per global region, the contractor fee for each sample firm and the Contractor Operator terms. Ask Avetta for the client subscription, the supplier plan each sample firm would need, whether a client programme would pay or discount supplier fees, and the seat price of any worker product. Ask both for renewal terms, notice of price changes and how records leave the platform.

ISNetworld (ISN) vs Avetta | FAQ

Can a contractor belong to both ISNetworld and Avetta?
Yes. Membership follows each hiring client's choice, so a contractor whose clients use different networks keeps two separate subscriptions. None of the pages we opened says either vendor accepts the other's review, and each charges on its own basis: headcount and countries at ISNetworld, connections and risk at Avetta. Keep one internal record of certificates and expiry dates so the two accounts stay consistent.
Does adding a hiring client cost more on ISNetworld or Avetta?
On ISNetworld, no: the contractor page and FAQ say new hiring-client connections carry no extra fee. On Avetta, yes: its supplier agreement charges when you connect to a new client or prime contractor, and each connection then runs for at least a year. Neither vendor publishes the amount.
How does a contractor move from one network to the other?
The hiring client decides: when a client changes network, you join the new one and keep the old one only for clients still on it. Check the exit terms first. ISNetworld's agreement lets you cancel at any time but keeps fees already paid; Avetta's renews every 12 months unless you cancel before the renewal date and charges for a connection ended within its first year. On records, ISNetworld's agreement leaves you the owner of what you upload, and Avetta's makes you responsible for retrieving anything you want to keep before your access ends, after which it may delete it. Neither describes an export tool, so keep your own copies of certificates and programmes.
Which hiring clients use ISNetworld or Avetta?
ISNetworld publishes a list of its hiring clients, searchable by industry and country. Avetta publishes customer stories that can be filtered by industry, region and customer type, which is not a full client list, and its registration lets a supplier search for a client by name. The client's invitation letter or procurement team remains the reliable answer for which network it requires.
    Which product is cheaper?
Comparable total cost has not been established. Request the same applications, users, sites, configuration, migration, integrations and support period from both vendors. Published entry pricing is subject to the plan conditions shown in each profile.
How should I compare offline capability?
Use the exact proposed mobile application and plan. Download required data, disconnect, create a record with a photo, reconnect and inspect synchronization. Record which preparation and tasks require connectivity.
How should I decide between these products?
Set acceptance criteria for your actual workflow. Complete the same demo, record observed results separately from vendor statements and resolve remaining questions in a scoped pilot. The linked profiles show the sources and review status for each product.
