Cirrus Research's software follows its instruments. NoiseTools turns measurements downloaded from Cirrus meters and dosimeters into noise-at-work and environmental reports, with calibrated audio playback and an AuditStore check that report data matches what the instrument stored. For unattended monitoring, Quantum Outdoor (Class 1) sends data over 4G, Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and Quantum Indoor (Class 2, with a Class 1 variant) over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a modem, to the Quantum Portal, which issues SMS and email alerts.

Who is Cirrus Research (NoiseTools and MyCirrus) for?
Occupational hygienists, health and safety teams and environmental consultants who measure noise with Cirrus instruments and need defensible exposure and nuisance reports. NoiseTools runs only on Windows 10 (20H1) or later and analyses data from Cirrus instruments. Quantum Portal access needs a subscription, and no hardware or subscription price is published. The current NoiseTools page says the Reverberation Time, Octave Band Ln and ISO 9612 modules are included as standard, and the former standalone Ln product page now redirects to it; confirm entitlement for the exact version and instrument.
Worth evaluating for teams that already own or plan to buy Cirrus meters, because NoiseTools adds exposure and nuisance reporting without licence charges and AuditStore helps defend the data. Less suited to Mac-only offices or to buyers who want one portal for several instrument brands.

Cirrus Research is a UK maker of sound level meters, noise dosimeters and noise monitors. Its software is NoiseTools, Windows analysis software supplied with its instruments without licence charges, and MyCirrus, a cloud platform whose Quantum Portal serves the Quantum Outdoor and Quantum Indoor remote monitors on a subscription.

Also watch for: No macOS or Linux version of NoiseTools. Quantum Portal access requires a subscription. After a database upgrade, every user of a shared NoiseTools database must run the latest version. VoiceTag transcription relies on a cloud speech-recognition service.

NoiseTools is supplied with Cirrus sound level meters, dosimeters and measurement kits without licence restrictions, installs on any number of PCs and receives updates at no charge. Quantum Outdoor is ordered through a basket or a Quote Me request with configurable weather, air-quality, vibration, camera, power and 4G options, and no amount appeared in the page text reviewed. Access to the Quantum Portal requires a subscription that includes data hosting, updates and support. Long-term leases with monthly payments are offered for Quantum Outdoor, Quantum Indoor, the Outdoor Measurement Kit and Trojan recorders, priced on enquiry.

Which product scope should the quote cover?
NoiseTools downloads, analyses and reports data from Optimus meters, doseBadge dosimeters and Trojan recorders, with ISO 9612, reverberation time and octave-band Ln modules included. MyCirrus adds live data, notifications, digital calibration certificates and instrument sharing; Quantum monitors add optional weather, air-quality, ground-vibration and camera modules. Triax Analysis Pro and SoundSign serve other Cirrus instruments.
Ask the vendor to identify the product, region, modules, billing unit, contract term and included services in writing.
Desktop analysis on local databases; Quantum monitoring cloud-connected
NoiseTools is Windows desktop software that stores measurements in database files on the PC or a shared network location; instruments download over USB, and remote downloads over a modem can skip time history and audio for later USB retrieval. VoiceTag-to-text conversion uses cloud speech recognition, and loading Quantum measurements straight from MyCirrus needs a connection. Quantum monitors reach the portal over 4G with 3G fallback, Wi-Fi or Ethernet; how much data a monitor keeps during an outage was not established.

How does Quantum Outdoor connect and get power?
It connects over 4G with 3G fallback on a factory-fitted multi-network SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and runs on Power over Ethernet, mains, solar panel or battery.
Is Quantum Indoor the same class as Quantum Outdoor?
No. Cirrus lists Quantum Outdoor as a Class 1 and Quantum Indoor as a Class 2 noise monitor to IEC 61672-1:2013.
