    SlateSafety

SlateSafety connects wearable physiological data with software views, alert settings and historical review. Optional environmental monitoring adds a separate site reading. Evaluate the device, user assignment, connectivity path and response procedure as one workflow.

    Evidence: Researched profile

    Who is SlateSafety for?

Safety teams evaluating wearable heat-strain monitoring alongside a defined workplace heat programme. SlateSafety provides specialist physiological and environmental monitoring, not medical diagnosis, clinical clearance or a complete occupational-health record. Alert and return-to-work thresholds remain the organization's responsibility. Validate wearer identity, sensitive-data access, radio coverage, notification delivery, delayed-data reconciliation and the human response record.

Use a pilot to measure whether the team receives, verifies and acts on the right information during a connectivity gap. Compare that demonstrated workflow with the complete device, service and ongoing administration cost; no avoided-illness or ROI percentage is assigned.

Watch for: Total hardware, software and connectivity pricing requires confirmation.

    Capabilities and scope

    Environmental inputDepends on scope

BEACON V2 provides temperature, humidity, heat index and estimated WBGT; it requires a BAND V2 or GATEWAY V2. Match the exact device and metric to the assessment method.

Local versus cloud operationDepends on scope

Local Mode is limited to nearby devices. Device recording during an outage does not establish remote supervisor delivery.

Go Local Mode, preparation and cached assignmentsCloud visibility and disconnected device recording
    Clinical decision-makingDocumented as unsupported

The manufacturer identifies BAND V2 as non-medical and says it does not replace professional medical judgment. Do not use a device state as clinical clearance.

BAND V2 intended-use and safety limits
    Complete operational response recordNot verified

Demonstrate alert receipt, acknowledgement, actual worker contact, action and authorized closure, including an export. A dashboard alone does not establish this complete sequence.

    Physiological alert configurationDepends on scope

BAND V2 loadouts define physiological thresholds. Wearers receive device alerts and contacts can receive configured notifications. SlateSafety does not recommend its example thresholds; the organization remains responsible for limits and response.

BAND V2 physiological alerts and return-to-work notificationsACGIH threshold configuration and responsibility boundary
Environmental alerts and return-to-work notificationsDepends on scope

BEACON V2 can alert on configured environmental thresholds and issue return-to-work notification when recovery conditions are met. This is not medical clearance or proof that controls may be removed.

BEACON V2 environmental alerts and return-to-work notifications
Repeated alerts for sustained conditionsDepends on scope

BAND V2 can retrigger alerts while a threshold remains exceeded. Sustained Alerts require firmware 2.5.0 or later and still depend on the organization's escalation process.

Site-, group- and role-scoped accessDocumented by vendor

Administrative and operational roles have different rights to data, exports, devices, loadouts and thresholds. Site and group assignments scope much of that access; validate cross-site users and least privilege.

Administrative, site, group and user permissionsSite and group organizational hierarchy
Physiological and environmental data exportsDepends on scope

Admins can generate CSV or Excel exports while scoped leaders are limited to assigned groups. Generated exports are creator-only and deleted after 14 days; this does not establish deletion of underlying platform data.

BAND V2 and BEACON V2 data exports
Gateway connectivity for degraded cellular areasDepends on scope

GATEWAY V2 relays nearby device data over organizational Wi-Fi or Ethernet and may use a hotspot. Published ranges are typical; required ports and site coverage need validation.

Heat-event and intervention analyticsDepends on scope

Insights aggregates alerts into vendor-defined Heat Stress Events and calculates interventions. Inspect grouping windows, rules, delayed-data behavior and missing readings before using them as programme KPIs.

    SlateSafety pricing

Request a hardware, software and connectivity quote

On 2 October 2026 slatesafety.com had no pricing page (/pricing/ returned its not-found page), a site search for "price" returned no price list, and no amount appeared on the homepage or the contact page, which routes enquiries to a message form, email and phone. Itemize wearables, software users, gateways, environmental monitors, connectivity, replacements, onboarding and support. The trial page is titled as a 30-day BAND V2 trial; confirm its duration, eligibility, supplied equipment, shipping/return conditions and later charges before booking.

Pricing sources checked : Partially verified. The linked BEACON V3 page is a waitlist, not evidence of delivery availability.

Which product scope should the quote cover?

Software V2 and SlateSafety Go with BAND V2 physiological monitoring, optional BEACON V2 environmental inputs and GATEWAY V2 connectivity.

Ask the vendor to identify the product, region, modules, billing unit, contract term and included services in writing.

Local device capture/viewing; cloud response needs connectivity

BAND V2 can retain data when disconnected. Go Local Mode displays nearby worn devices over Bluetooth after preparation, including recent login and the required device/app settings. Cached wearer assignments can be stale. Remote cloud visibility still needs a connection; test reconciliation and supervisor notification separately.

    Demo script

    Proposed heat-monitoring pilot

    1. Prepare the site procedure, devices, identities and permissions.
    2. Introduce a task change and a controlled connection gap.
    3. Verify the wearer and follow the assigned response procedure.
    4. Reconnect and review the timeline without hiding delayed or missing evidence.

Demo exercise: physiological alert to controlled return

    1. Assign the intended BAND V2 and loadout, verify identity and trigger a controlled threshold alert.
    2. Confirm wearer and supervisor notifications, then record contact and intervention outside the device.
    3. Wait for the configured return-to-work condition and demonstrate that notification does not automatically close response or medically clear the worker.
    4. Review the event and intervention timing in Insights and export the timeline.

Demo exercise: site access and interrupted connectivity

    1. Create two sites and groups with scoped roles, then verify view and export permissions.
    2. Interrupt direct cloud connectivity and relay nearby data through the intended gateway configuration.
    3. Restore connectivity and compare device time, cloud receipt time, missing intervals and duplicates.
    4. Generate a scoped export and confirm retention requirements separately.

Ask the vendor to show you

    1. Preserve metric, source, location, units and timestamp when a crew moves from an outdoor forecast area to a hot indoor task. How are stale and estimated readings labelled?
    2. Assign BAND-017 to a different worker after a phone caches its assignments. In Local Mode, demonstrate identity verification and later correction without losing history.
    3. Disconnect the cloud path while a nearby phone uses Local Mode. Which readings, device alerts and supervisor notifications remain available, and what evidence shows the gap?
    4. Trace a simulated alert through receipt, acknowledgement, worker contact, action and review. Can an unresolved response remain open after the device indicator changes?
    5. Reconnect and export device time, server receipt time, missing intervals, assignment history and response records. Show how duplicates and delayed data are identified.
    6. Use worker, supervisor and administrator roles. Confirm access and retention, then itemize the quoted hardware, connectivity, software, trial conditions, replacements and support.
