    Where the two scopes differ

Each name covers a family, and the records ask the buyer to pin down which member is meant. The Ideagen product directory maps four heritage products to Ideagen EHS and several quality products, DevonWay QMS and Q-Pulse among them, to Ideagen Quality Management; the record reads these as new names for older products, not as matching editions, shared licences or guaranteed migrations. The IsoMetrix record separates Aurora, for operational EHS, risk and compliance, from Lumina, for ESG data and carbon reporting, and treats the pair as two scopes that need an agreed handoff.

The emphasis of the documented scope differs. Ideagen's pages describe incident reporting, risk assessment, compliance tracking, audits and inspections, occupational health and industrial hygiene, with AI that drafts investigations and suggests actions for a team to review and approve, and name environmental management, contractor workforce management and Quality Management as parts that need explicit scope. IsoMetrix's pages emphasise a shared library of risks and controls, registers kept per site and for the group, bow-tie views and control testing, a Central Action Manager, hot-work and confined-space permits, a Quality solution with nonconformance and CAPA workflows, and contractor onboarding with expiry alerts.

Neither vendor shows a price: the Ideagen record found no pricing page and a contact-sales route as of 26 September 2026, and the IsoMetrix record found a request-demo route and no pricing page. IsoMetrix documents templated, tweaked and tailored delivery, with tailored available for Aurora only. Offline use is documented for each, in the Ideagen app listing and engagement page and in IsoMetrix's configured Android and iOS forms, and both records ask for module-level confirmation; the IsoMetrix record adds that Lumina offline behaviour is unverified. Each record names an ISO 27001 certificate as a vendor statement that was not reviewed.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with Ideagen EHS when

Ideagen suits a first demo when the opening requirement is an existing heritage system or a link to quality management. Bring one old record with attachments and permissions plus one nonconformity that also creates a safety concern, then ask which edition and product owns each and what is delivered, configured or manual.

    Start with IsoMetrix when

IsoMetrix suits a first demo when the opening requirement is a shared library of risks and controls tested across sites. Bring one critical-control failure, then ask to see it linked to a treatment plan and action, and to see where Aurora ends and Lumina begins for any environmental metric.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Ideagen EHS

    • Which edition and named modules are quoted, which heritage product do they replace and what does each migrate, in terms of forms, attachments and permissions?
    • Are environmental monitoring, contractor workforce management and Quality Management in the quote, and which sensors, hardware or integrations does each depend on?

    Ask IsoMetrix

    • Which requirements sit in Aurora, in Lumina or in a separately priced module, and which delivery model (templated, tweaked or tailored) is quoted?
    • What does the phone store before it goes offline (forms, attachments, reference lists), and does a lapsed contractor certificate stop entry or only send a notice?

Week 1: take one critical-control failure through both with the phone in flight mode. Prepare the form while connected, then record the failure with a photo and no signal, reconnect and check the record, duplicates and who is assigned the action. Neither record verifies a trial, so ask each vendor for a workspace built on the edition or product you would buy.

Week 2: test the boundaries named in each record. For Ideagen, open the quality nonconformity and the safety incident as separate records and see how a shared action is created. For IsoMetrix, trace one energy figure with a correction through Aurora and Lumina. In both, set up a contractor with a lapsed credential and note whether the product blocks, warns or says nothing, then ask each vendor for a written total.

    Worked evaluation scenarios

These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.

Hypothetical: a company still running an old ProcessMAP or Lucidity system

A company runs an older system under a heritage name and is told the replacement carries a newer one. The Ideagen product directory lists four older products, ProcessMAP among them, as now being Ideagen EHS, and the record says the mapping gives no assurance of equivalent editions, shared licences or migrated data. The IsoMetrix record separates Aurora for operational EHS and risk from Lumina for ESG data, and says buying one does not imply the other. Give each vendor a sample form with attachments and a permission set from your current system. Ask what migrates, who maps it and what is rebuilt. If the answer differs by edition, put the edition in writing.

Hypothetical: a contractor arrives with a certificate that expired last month

A contractor reaches a gate with an insurance certificate that lapsed last month. The Ideagen record describes a workforce and contractor solution that checks training, credentials and inductions before arrival, and says to confirm access-control hardware and whether a lapse denies entry. The IsoMetrix record describes a contractor register with verification, expiry alerts and status dashboards, and leaves open whether a lapsed credential stops entry or just triggers a notice. Create a test contractor with one lapsed document and one missing induction, then see what each product shows the approver and the gate. If the system only warns, decide who is allowed to override.

Hypothetical: a sustainability lead needs one site's energy figure traced

A sustainability lead needs one plant's monthly energy figure traced from source to a reported total, after a correction. The IsoMetrix record says Lumina holds sustainability metrics and carbon calculations and Aurora tracks environmental indicators, with the product boundary to be agreed in writing. The Ideagen record describes environmental management with carbon data and monitoring-equipment feeds as a named part of the wider portfolio, and asks for licensed modules and hardware to be confirmed. Give both the same record with a supporting document and a changed value. Ask which component stores, reviews and calculates it. If a connector or extra module sits on that path, add it to the quote.

What the records do not establish

    Ideagen EHS

    • A price, currency, billing term or minimum number of users for Ideagen EHS.
    • That every module, attachment and approval works offline, or that the apps behave the same across heritage products.
    • That environmental, contractor and Quality Management scope comes with the EHS quote, or that hardware is included.

    IsoMetrix

    • A price or a licence minimum for Aurora or Lumina, or a free trial.
    • That Lumina carbon calculations or reporting work offline, or how information passes between the two products.
    • That an expired contractor credential blocks access, rather than only raising an alert.

    Neither product

    • Whether either suite leads to cleaner records or a quicker rollout: no implementation outcome was reviewed.
    • Whether either vendor's security certificate or standards alignment covers your deployment: none was reviewed.
