Which requirements should drive the decision?

Editorial interpretation of the linked vendor documentation, checked . These priorities and demo tasks are recommendations; no comparative product test was performed.

    Consider Ideagen EHS when…

    • You already run ProcessMap, Lucidity, DevonWay, OSHENS or Q-Pulse and want to move to the current product while keeping your history.
    • Quality and EHS are owned by different teams that can work with two related products and a defined handoff.
    • Occupational health and industrial hygiene, or field signatures and QR scanning, belong in the EHS scope.
    Published scope

On 25 September 2026 the Ideagen EHS page described health and safety compliance, risk assessments and incident reporting with centralised EHS management, and the product directory mapped heritage names onto current products, including Damstra as Ideagen Workforce Safety, a separately named product. Listed health and safety areas: audits, inspections, occupational health, and industrial hygiene. The vendor's App Store listing for the Ideagen EHS app, reviewed on 19 September, describes offline support, picture annotation, QR scanning, signature capture and voice-to-text, without a module-by-module offline list. No EHS price, term, minimum or free trial was found; a demonstration is offered.

    Consider Intelex when…

    • A quality nonconformance and a safety incident should share one action process, one user base and one reporting layer.
    • You want to start with a published safety package and add quality applications later on the same platform.
    • Controlled documents must show which revision each worker acknowledged.
    Published scope

Intelex sells one platform in tiers. Safety Essentials, from US$44 per user a month for at least 25 users billed annually, is self-serve with incidents, action plans and inspections on responsive web. Advanced and Enterprise, both quoted, span safety, health, environment, ESG and quality, add native iOS and Android apps that capture offline with photo and voice annotation and GPS, and move from services-assisted to SME-guided delivery; only Enterprise lists API access. On the quality side, the application catalogue lists Nonconformance Reporting, Action Plan Management and Corrective Action Reporting as separate applications, and Document Control keeps revisions, obsolete versions and worker acknowledgements. Free trial access is offered on request.

Run these three tasks in both demos

    1. Raise a supplier nonconformance that also injured an employee.

Acceptance evidence: Ideagen: create the quality record in Quality Management and the incident in Ideagen EHS, then show whether the corrective action is shared, copied or re-keyed. Intelex: raise the nonconformance and the incident with the quoted applications and show one action plan linked to both. Record every licence used.

    2. Migrate a sample of history from your current system.

Acceptance evidence: For an existing Ideagen customer, bring ten closed records with attachments from the heritage product and show them in the current Ideagen EHS or Quality Management with permissions intact. For Intelex, show the import route for the same records. Name who maps the data and what is left behind.

    3. Complete an inspection offline with a signature and a photo, then revise a procedure the inspector must acknowledge.

Acceptance evidence: Ideagen: use the Ideagen EHS app with signature capture and QR scanning, and say which Ideagen product holds the procedure. Intelex: use the native app of the quoted tier and Document Control. Reconnect, check receipt, then replace the procedure and show the acknowledged revision and the obsolete copy.

    Keep the decision open if…

Keep the decision open if an Ideagen demonstration uses a heritage product or a Quality Management feature outside the proposed EHS scope, if migration effort is left unpriced, or if Intelex native offline capture is assumed at Essentials. Neither record establishes an Ideagen price, an Intelex Advanced or Enterprise price, an implementation duration or a hosting location.

    Align the proposals

Ask Ideagen to name each product (EHS, Quality Management, Workforce Safety), edition, mobile app and module, migration from any heritage system, the link between products, support and renewal, each as a line. Ask Intelex to state the tier, the quality applications and add-ons, native mobile access, API access and services. Intelex's Essentials entry price is public but lists no quality applications, so compare Ideagen's proposal with a quoted Intelex tier that includes them.

    Where the two scopes differ

The guide above frames the pair as quality and safety bought as separate products against one platform in tiers. The records add three more differences. On price, the Intelex record gives a published entry price for Safety Essentials, with a 25-user minimum and annual billing, and treats other safety applications as add-ons; the Ideagen record found no EHS amount, currency, term or minimum, and no pricing page. On trial, Intelex offers free access by request with the duration and enabled applications unconfirmed, while Ideagen offers a demonstration and the record could not verify an EHS trial.

On integration, the Intelex record describes a permission-aware REST API that needs an enabled instance and a valid user, with key and token authentication limited to administrator or full-access users, and a Workday gateway. The Ideagen record names environmental monitoring equipment that can feed a dashboard and says contractor, hardware and integration scope all need explicit quoting. Neither record shows a connector to a system of yours.

Both records restrict what the mobile statements prove. Ideagen's offline support comes from an app store listing and a safety-engagement page, with no module-by-module matrix. Intelex documents offline incident, inspection, observation and near-miss capture, but its Essentials price lists responsive web, so native offline use must be confirmed against the tier quoted.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with Ideagen EHS when

Ideagen is the safer first demo when you already run one of the older products the guide lists, because the first question is what moving to the current edition involves and the demo should be of that migration, not of a new install. Ask for the edition and app to be named before the session, since the record warns that common branding hides edition differences.

    Start with Intelex when

Intelex is the safer first demo when you want to test against a number: the entry tier has a published price, so a pilot can be sized before a sales conversation. Say which tier the demo is on. The record warns against carrying Advanced or Enterprise features back to Essentials.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Ideagen EHS

    • Name the product lineage, edition, mobile app and each solution module, and say which are separate products such as Quality Management.
    • Ask what price, currency, billing term and minimum users apply to the EHS edition, and whether the AI-assisted investigation features are in it.

    Ask Intelex

    • Name the tier, every add-on, native mobile access, API access and services.
    • Ask what the free access covers: duration, tier and enabled applications.

Week 1, the quality to safety handoff. Raise a nonconformance in each and trace it to a corrective action, an owner and a closure approval, using only the products and tiers in the proposal. In Ideagen, note where the step leaves EHS and enters Quality Management; in Intelex, note whether the applications used are in the tier quoted.

Week 2, field and integration. Capture an incident offline with a photo in the exact app, reconnect, then inspect the audit trail and any failed upload. Then change a record in your source system, such as an HR record, and ask each vendor to show the mapping, the failure handling and who owns the interface. Compare first-year totals at the end.

What the records do not establish

    Ideagen EHS

    • A price, currency, term or minimum for EHS, or a free EHS trial.
    • A module-by-module offline matrix, or equivalence across heritage apps.
    • That environmental monitoring, contractor management or Quality Management are in the edition you would be quoted.

    Intelex

    • A price for Advanced or Enterprise, or the duration of the trial.
    • Native offline entitlement at Essentials.
    • That a published application connection is an implemented integration for your systems.

    Neither product

    • An implementation duration or a hosting location.
    • Whether a migration from a heritage Ideagen product is simple or costly.

Ideagen EHS vs Intelex | FAQ

Is Ideagen EHS the same product as ProcessMap or Q-Pulse?
Ideagen's product directory lists ProcessMap, Lucidity, DevonWay and OSHENS as now known as Ideagen EHS, and Q-Pulse and DevonWay QMS as Ideagen Quality Management. That is a naming map, not a promise that features, data or licences carry over. Ask Ideagen what migrating your installation involves and what it costs.
Does Intelex cover quality management as well as safety?
Its Advanced and Enterprise tiers cover quality alongside safety, health, environment and ESG, and the catalogue lists Nonconformance Reporting, Action Plan Management and Corrective Action Reporting. Safety Essentials lists no quality applications. Confirm the quality applications in the tier you are quoted.
Does Ideagen publish a price for its EHS software?
No EHS price, currency, term or minimum was found on the pages reviewed, and a free EHS trial was not established; prices for other Ideagen products do not apply. Intelex publishes only its Safety Essentials entry price.
    Which product is cheaper?
Comparable total cost has not been established. Request the same applications, users, sites, configuration, migration, integrations and support period from both vendors. Published entry pricing is subject to the plan conditions shown in each profile.
How should I compare offline capability?
Use the exact proposed mobile application and plan. Download required data, disconnect, create a record with a photo, reconnect and inspect synchronization. Record which preparation and tasks require connectivity.
How should I decide between these products?
Set acceptance criteria for your actual workflow. Complete the same demo, record observed results separately from vendor statements and resolve remaining questions in a scoped pilot. The linked profiles show the sources and review status for each product.
