Two renames in four years, and most of the internet is still on one of the older names. Here are the dates, from the vendor's own announcements, and what each change does and does not mean for you.

iAuditor launches
The vendor describes its own starting point as an audit and risk tool. In its 2022 renaming announcement it writes that it first launched iAuditor in 2012.

iAuditor becomes SafetyCulture
Announced on 2 November 2022 and effective from 21 November. The vendor framed it as aligning the flagship product with the master brand, and stated plainly that it was an update to the name: the platform and the features, inspections among them, were not changing.

SafetyCulture becomes Mitti
The company rebranded as Mitti, describing it as the biggest transformation in its history and a move beyond safety management to an all-in-one operations system. Founder and CEO Luke Anear framed it as the name catching up with what customers were already using the product for. The vendor states the platform is used by more than two million frontline workers across 80,000 organisations.
Both announcement pages are now served from mitti.com, which is itself confirmation that the chain is continuous rather than three separate products.
What it means for you
You are an existing user
The 2022 announcement described continuity for that rename. It does not verify your account, contract or feature entitlements after the 2026 rebrand. Check current notices and your agreement; a new name alone establishes no new plan inclusion.
You are evaluating the product
Search for Mitti, not iAuditor. Reviews, comparisons and AI answers written before August 2026 will say SafetyCulture, and anything before November 2022 will say iAuditor. All three describe the same product line, but a 2021 review of iAuditor is describing a much narrower product than what is sold today.
You are reading a comparison
Check its date before its conclusions. A great deal of published comparison material still calls this product SafetyCulture or SafetyCulture (iAuditor), including, until recently, pages on this site. That is a currency problem rather than a correctness one, but it matters when older product descriptions may no longer reflect the current offering.
You inherited a contract
The renames are not contract events in themselves, but the 2026 repositioning is broader than a name: the vendor now describes software, hardware, consumables and insurance built on the same operational data. Establish what your agreement actually covers rather than inferring it from the platform description.
What actually changed, and what did not
The 2022 change was explicitly cosmetic. The vendor wrote that it was just an update to the name and that the platform and its features were not changing.
The 2026 change is not only a name. The vendor describes Mitti as an operations system rather than a safety product, spanning software, hardware, consumables and insurance built on the same operational data. That is a repositioning, and it is the reason we would not treat a 2024 review as current even though the product is continuous.

What to search for now
- ▸Search Mitti, or Mitti by SafetyCulture, for anything current.
- ▸Material naming SafetyCulture was written between November 2022 and August 2026 and is usually still substantively accurate, if narrower than the product now sold.
- ▸Material naming iAuditor predates November 2022 and describes an audit and inspection tool rather than the current range.
- ▸The vendor maintains pages under the old names, so an iAuditor search still reaches it — but most of what surfaces alongside will be years old.
