How Blackline Safety charges
Blackline prices its G8 plans per device per month in USD: Standard from $43 and Pro from $58. A footnote says these are the monthly per-device purchase cost (LEL-MPS, H₂S, CO, O₂ cartridge), based on a four-year term paid upfront with a four-year warranty. Any lease alternative, tax, region and accessories are settled in a quote.
The $33 G7 lone-worker offer is a different purchase, a four-year North American lease including device and service. It is not a G8 price and is not in the table.
The footnote changes how the G8 figures should be read. A monthly price is how the page presents a device purchase over a four-year term paid upfront, so, if the footnote is read literally, the cash outlay at the start would be the monthly figure multiplied by the number of months in four years, per device, before tax, accessories and any monitoring. Treat it as an equipment purchase with a warranty of the same length, not as a subscription that can be stopped after a month.
The sensor configuration named in the footnote is part of the price: the amounts are the purchase cost of a device with an LEL-MPS, H₂S, CO and O₂ cartridge. The record does not say what a different set of sensors would cost, so a site that needs another gas combination should ask for that configuration to be priced by itself and not assume the table applies.
The line between the two G8 plans is who watches the alerts. Standard leaves out live monitoring and in-platform alert management, and Pro adds self-monitoring, which means people in your own organisation watch the platform and respond. Professional 24/7 monitoring is a further option on Pro, and the record says optional monitoring and other contractual terms need a scoped proposal. With the cheaper plan, response may therefore rest more on a worker, or a colleague nearby, hearing the on-device alarm.
Do not set the $33 G7 offer against the G8 amounts. It is a lease that includes device and service, in North America, for a different product, whereas the G8 amounts are a purchase cost per device. The prices are also per device, not per person, so a buyer who counts staff should count devices: shared devices across shifts, spares and a lone-worker device that also needs gas detection can each change the number.

What each Blackline Safety plan covers, as recorded
- G8 Standard
- Not included: live monitoring and in-platform alert management.
- G8 Pro
- Includes self-monitoring; professional 24/7 monitoring is an option on top.
- Four-year warranty
- Stated with the purchase cost and the four-year term paid upfront. What happens at the end of the term, such as replacement, renewal of any service or a further warranty, is not in the record.
- Optional monitoring
- Professional monitoring needs a scoped proposal. Coverage, monitoring hours and acknowledgements are for the buyer to verify, as an on-device alarm does not show that a remote responder received it.
- G7 lone-worker lease
- A separate four-year North American lease at $33 that includes device and service; not a G8 price.
Editorial quote checklist
What to ask Blackline Safety to put in the quote
Questions prepared by The QHSE Standard from the recorded terms and gaps; they are not statements from Blackline Safety.
- Whether the device can be leased instead of bought upfront for four years, and at what price.
- Tax, region and accessories as separate lines.
- The price of professional 24/7 monitoring on Pro, and the monitoring hours it covers.
- How an acknowledgement is shown: an alarm on the device does not establish that a remote responder received it.
- The sensor cartridge the price assumes (LEL-MPS, H₂S, CO, O₂), and the price of any other gas configuration you would need, since the footnote ties the amounts to that cartridge.
- What the amount is for each device over the whole four-year term, paid upfront, and what happens when the term and the warranty end.
- Whether the plan you are quoted includes live monitoring, because the Standard plan does not and Pro offers self-monitoring, with professional 24/7 monitoring as a further option.
- Whether the device works without mobile coverage, and what the alarm does when there is none, shown on a trial before the term is signed.
- The number of devices you are buying and the unit that number is counted in, since the software is quoted per device and the record asks whether it is priced per user.
- Whether any gas detection is needed in the lone-worker devices as well, because the $33 G7 lease and the G8 purchase prices are for different products.
- Configuration, support, data handling and the complete commercial scope, which procurement should confirm before signing.

Pricing recheck, : G8 tier prices are public; on 25 September 2026 the footnote based them on a device purchase over a four-year term paid upfront. Other contractual terms and optional monitoring require a scoped proposal. G7 lease terms are separately identified.
