    How Safeti charges

Safeti publishes starting monthly rates in euros for two licence types: an Individual licence from EUR 16,513, for unshared use, and a Network licence from EUR 19,428, for simultaneous users.

Lease and subscription terms run from 1 day to 3 years on the Safeti page and from 1 month to 3 years on the FAQ page, and both pages also mention perpetual licences, bought through the Veracity marketplace or a sales manager.

The store page that shows the plans loads through a script and was not read, and the reviewed pages state no taxes, no minimum term for the monthly rates and no effect of term length on them.

These are monthly rates for specialist consequence-modelling software, so a full year is twelve times the monthly figure and runs well into six figures per licence. Whether the monthly rate stays the same across a short and a long term is the first thing to settle, because the reviewed pages state no effect of term length on it, while the lease terms range from a day or a month to three years.

The choice between the two licence types turns on how people use the software. An Individual licence is for unshared use, so one analyst, one licence. A Network licence is for simultaneous users, so a group that works at different times can share it. The Network rate is above the Individual rate, but by less than the price of a second Individual licence, so a team of two or more analysts who rarely need it together can be cheaper on Network. The record does not say how many simultaneous users a Network licence allows, so ask for the number and how it is enforced.

The two pages disagree on the shortest term: the Safeti page says a lease or subscription can start from one day, and the FAQ page says one month. For a single study or a short project, that difference decides whether a one-off engagement can be bought as a licence at all, so get the shortest term you can actually order, and its monthly rate, written down.

Perpetual licences are mentioned on both pages and bought through the Veracity marketplace or a sales manager, but no amount is given. Compare a perpetual price with the lease or subscription price over the years you expect to use the product, and ask what support and upgrades cover during the licence, since the version you receive decides which features, such as CFD import, you can use.

The licence is only part of the cost of a result. Results depend on the inputs the analyst supplies and use calls for trained specialists, so the cost of the people who set up and check a study, and of training them, is outside every amount on this page. Links to business systems and mobile use are not described, and hosted access is limited to the FAQ's pre-installed virtual machine, so ask who hosts and maintains that machine and what it costs.

What each Safeti plan covers, as recorded

    Extended Explosions add-on
Includes The add-on itself, from EUR 3,303 per month on its Safeti plan for one user, with access from 30 days to 1 year; it needs a valid Safeti or Phast version, and the figure is the add-on price, not a Safeti licence rate.
    Individual licence
For unshared use: one licence for one analyst, from a monthly rate that the reviewed pages do not tie to a term.
    Network licence
For simultaneous users, so it can be shared by people who work at different times. The number of simultaneous users it allows is not stated.
    Perpetual licence
Mentioned on both pages and bought through the Veracity marketplace or a sales manager; no amount is shown.
    Hosted access
Limited to the pre-installed virtual machine described in the FAQ; links to business systems and mobile use are not described.
    CFD import
Needs version 9.1 or later, so the version supplied with the licence has a bearing on what the licence can do.

    Editorial quote checklist

What to ask Safeti to put in the quote

Questions prepared by The QHSE Standard from the recorded terms and gaps; they are not statements from Safeti.

    • The licence type and term you need, and how the monthly rate changes between a 1 month term and a multi-year term.
    • Which of the explosion outputs you require need an add-on, and the add-on cost for your licence type.
    • The version you receive, and what support and upgrades cover during the licence.
    • How many simultaneous users a Network licence allows and how that limit is enforced, set against the number of analysts who will use it, since the Network licence is the one sold for simultaneous users.
    • The shortest term you can order and its monthly rate, because the Safeti page and the FAQ page give different shortest terms, and whether a perpetual licence is priced for your case.
    • Taxes and the minimum term, which the reviewed pages do not state, and the plan prices on the Veracity store page, which loads through a script and was not read.
    • One of your own facility layouts run in front of you, with the risk contours and the FN curve and the inputs your team must supply.
    • Which regulators in your jurisdiction accept Safeti results, and which validation documents the vendor can supply.
    • Who hosts the pre-installed virtual machine, if you need hosted access, and whether any link to your business systems exists.

Vendor sources support the recorded prices and plan terms. Explanatory summaries, worked examples and quote questions are The QHSE Standard's editorial interpretation or calculations, not vendor statements.
