    Safeti

DNV's pages describe Safeti as software that models consequences and risk in one interface, calculating risk from user-provided leak frequencies, ignition, weather, population and vulnerability data. Standard outputs include individual risk contours, FN curves and potential loss of life; typical uses named include fire and explosion risk assessment, occupied buildings risk assessment and risk-based design. Add-ons extend explosion, mixture and solid-explosion modelling. The vendor states that more than 1,000 organizations use it.

    Evidence: Researched profile

    Who is Safeti for?

Process safety engineers and consultants who must produce numerical risk results for major hazard sites, occupied buildings or facility layouts. Results depend on inputs the analyst supplies, and use calls for trained specialists. Links to business systems and mobile use are not described; hosted access is limited to the FAQ's pre-installed virtual machine. Some explosion outputs need an add-on, and CFD import needs version 9.1 or later.

Watch for: Results rest on user-supplied inputs and need specialist skills.

Published price: Individual licence from EUR 16,513 per month; Network licence from EUR 19,428 per month. Trial or demo on request. Sources checked .

    Capabilities and scope

Safeti is quantitative risk analysis software from DNV. It is an engineering consequence and risk-modelling tool for process plants, not a QHSE management system with workflows, records or registers. This profile covers Safeti and the add-ons its pages list. Phast sold on its own, which has its own page and price, Safeti Offshore and DNV's other software are out of scope. Safeti QRA software with its Extended Explosions, Multi-Component and Solid Explosions add-ons; licence types, training and support as the pages describe them.

    Safeti pricing

Published monthly starting rates for an Individual or a Network licence; subscription and perpetual options also offered

The Safeti page shows an Individual licence from EUR 16,513 per month, for unshared use, and a Network licence from EUR 19,428 per month, for simultaneous users. The Extended Explosions add-on page says it needs a valid Safeti or Phast version and lists a Safeti plan from EUR 3,303 per month for one user, with access from 30 days to 1 year. The Safeti page says lease and subscription options run from 1 day to 3 years, the FAQ page says 1 month to 3 years, and both mention perpetual licences, bought through the Veracity marketplace or a sales manager. The Veracity store page showing the plans loads through a script and was not read; the reviewed pages state no taxes, no minimum term for the monthly rates and no effect of term length on them.

Separate pricing recheck date not recorded. Confirm current pricing with the vendor.

    Offline work and integrations

Desktop software for 64-bit Windows with a licence file held on one PC, a USB dongle or a network server. Whether a standalone licence needs an internet connection is not described on the reviewed pages.

    Demo script

Proposed demo: facility risk study to occupied building result

    1. Set up a sample facility with leak frequencies, weather and population data.
    2. Run the study and review individual risk contours, the FN curve and risk ranking points.
    3. Add an occupied building and show the explosion outputs, noting which need an add-on.
    4. Change one mitigation measure and compare the risk results before and after.
    5. Export contours as a shapefile and open them in a GIS.

Ask the vendor to show you

    1. Which licence type and term do we need, and how does the monthly rate change between a 1 month term and a multi-year term?
    2. Run one of our own facility layouts and show the risk contours and FN curve, including the inputs we must supply.
