    ChemGes

ChemGes maintains formulation information and supports SDS and label preparation for selected markets. Evaluate input provenance, review decisions and controlled outputs in the proposed installation. Language coverage and automated calculations do not replace specialist assessment of a particular product.

    Evidence: Researched profile

Built from vendor sources checked ; AI-assisted drafting. Documentation review, not a hands-on test. How pages are made

    Who is ChemGes for?

Chemical manufacturers, formulators and distributors maintaining their own product safety documentation. Confirm country and language coverage, qualified review, custom imports and maintenance conditions. A successful document generation is not a verified compliance outcome.

Evaluate the full cost against repeated authored outputs, revision review and distribution needs. If the task is only worker access to supplier PDFs, price an SDS library separately. Include internal specialist time, data migration, configuration and ongoing maintenance.

Watch for: Requires maintained source data and competent review. Custom imports, deployment and maintenance conditions need a scoped proposal.

    Capabilities and scope

ChemGes is DR-Software's chemical classification, SDS and label authoring application. MSDS+ is a separately described companion for document catalogs; it is not an alternate name for ChemGes or evidence of a complete workplace EHS platform.

Formulation and source-data recordsDocumented by vendor

Classification and document generationDocumented by vendor

Separate classification tools and SDS/label outputs are described. Require a specialist to verify the proposed market rules and distinguish entered, calculated and estimated values.

Languages and content configurationDepends on scope

The vendor lists 39 standard-phrase languages. Confirm the required language/market combination, custom text and licensed configuration; translated phrases alone do not validate a document.

    Data exchangeDepends on scope

ANSI text exchange and export routines are described; imports are customer-specific. No ready-made connector or public REST API is established by this review.

PCN preparation and transferDepends on scope

The vendor describes dossier generation and portal transfer, with PCN features available under an active maintenance contract. Confirm current entitlement, entity credentials and status handling; no live submission was tested.

    Disconnected authoringNot verified

Local Windows deployment does not establish a complete offline workflow; server access, licensing, files and remote sessions need separate testing.

Raw-material reference and screening dataDocumented by vendor

The reference database covers substances, identifiers, properties, classifications, regulatory lists and transport data. It excludes mixtures; missing materials, translations and separately copyrighted values remain buyer responsibilities.

Work-area Internal Plant InstructionsDocumented by vendor

ChemGes can create instructions in 17 languages and maintain multiple instructions for one substance by work area or type. Confirm jurisdiction, wording, approval and employee delivery.

Exposure Scenario templates and SDS linkageDocumented by vendor

The guide documents scenario creation from an SDS, reusable templates, multiple links and automatic population. Experts must validate applicability and consistency; no automated regulatory approval is established.

    ChemGes pricing

Price list on request; custom quote

On 26 September 2026 the DR Software contact page offered an "Information folder with price list" and a cost-free demonstration through a request form, and the page shows no amount; the English site navigation has no pricing page. The page states that sales and delivery are handled exclusively by the head office in Austria. Quote users, country/language scope, labels, imports, training and maintenance. The download portal warns that applying updates after maintenance ends can disable printing and file output; confirm the exact contractual scenario.

Pricing sources checked : Partially verified.

Which product scope should the quote cover?

DR-Software ChemGes authoring and product-stewardship workflows. Confirm labels, country/language configurations, distribution, PCN use and any MSDS+ companion separately in the proposal.

Ask the vendor to identify the product, region, modules, billing unit, contract term and included services in writing.

    Offline workflow not verified

The vendor describes remote access for home-office use. Demonstrate the proposed local/server arrangement, file paths, restart and export, and assess email distribution and PCN transfer separately.

    Demo script

Demo exercise: source change to reviewed SDS revision

    1. Use a fictional product with named formulation and source-document revisions.
    2. Generate two agreed market/language outputs and leave one custom phrase untranslated.
    3. Revise one source input and identify affected documents without overwriting the issued copies.
    4. Review the change and simulate a failed recipient delivery; export versions, decisions and distribution status.

Demo exercise: reusable Exposure Scenario to reviewed SDS annex

    1. Create a fictional scenario template for a defined use and link it to a test formulation.
    2. Populate it from the SDS and introduce one conflicting operating condition.
    3. Have a qualified reviewer resolve it and confirm the source template was not overwritten.
    4. Change one SDS value and re-review the linked scenario before issue.

Demo exercise: one substance to work-area-specific instructions

    1. Select a fictional substance with agreed handling and emergency information.
    2. Create separate instructions for two work areas and a second-language version.
    3. Have the local owner compare each instruction with the SDS and flag an unsuitable statement.
    4. Correct it and export the issued instructions while preserving the rejected draft outside the issued set.

Ask the vendor to show you

    1. Can we trace a generated SDS to the exact formulation revision, source data and regulatory content version used?
    2. Can we configure market and language separately, flag an untranslated custom phrase and preserve the review decision?
    3. Can we identify affected SDSs and labels after a source or formulation change while retaining the previous issued versions?
    4. Can we distinguish an approved document, a distribution attempt and an unresolved delivery, and export that history?
    5. Which authoring, review, export and distribution steps work without each required connection, and what changes when maintenance or content support ends?
    6. Which language and country configurations, tailored imports, label outputs, PCN use and MSDS+ services are included in the ChemGes proposal?

    Questions the sources answer

Is ChemGes a supplier-SDS library or an authoring product?

This profile focuses on classification, formulation records and preparation of your own safety documents. If the need is worker retrieval of supplier documents, assess library access separately. MSDS+ is a companion document-catalog application.

What should we check when a maintenance contract ends?

Ask for written terms for the installed version, support, content access and outputs. The vendor warning specifically concerns updates applied after maintenance has ended; it does not justify a blanket claim that every existing installation immediately loses printing.
