    InfinityQS ProFicient

InfinityQS ProFicient collects manufacturing quality data, applies configured SPC charts and alarm rules, schedules checks, records process events and supports dashboards, reports and audit trails. It can combine manual, connected-device and automated data paths, but each interface, database, service and response workflow must be designed and acceptance-tested for the buyer's deployment.

    Evidence: Researched profile

Built from vendor sources checked ; AI-assisted drafting. Documentation review, not a hands-on test. How pages are made

    Who is InfinityQS ProFicient for?

Manufacturers needing configurable plant-level SPC, heterogeneous measurement collection and controlled quality-event workflows in a Windows and ODBC architecture. Control limits, specification limits and alarm rules answer different questions and are configuration-dependent. A chart signal is not automatic proof that product is nonconforming, and an in-control process is not automatically capable. Define calculation methods, subgrouping, limits, data ownership, cause and action codes, and release authority with qualified quality professionals. Vendor benefit and compliance statements do not validate the buyer's process or configuration.

Shortlist ProFicient when the main requirement is production SPC with controlled data acquisition. Use a representative gauge or collector and a replayable test dataset to establish the implementation effort.

    Capabilities and scope

ProFicient is the Windows and ODBC-based InfinityQS SPC product within Advantive. Current Advantive material distinguishes ProFicient On-Premise from the separate Enact cloud product and also references cloud or hybrid deployment and the older named ProFicient on Demand option. Require the proposal to name the exact product, version, hosting architecture, applications and services; do not transfer Enact features or licensing to ProFicient.

    Custom quote

On 26 September 2026 the ProFicient product page offered Get a Demo and Book a Demo routes, and the Advantive pricing page shows no amount: it invites buyers to request a customised quote covering pricing, licensing costs and projected implementation fees ("Get Personalized Pricing"). Request a ProFicient-specific proposal covering sites, workstations, users, deployment, database infrastructure, collectors, migration, training and support. Price any Enact connection separately.

Pricing sources checked : Partially verified. Current product and training pages were reviewed. Request the named deployment, collection modules, license basis and evaluation terms; no public starting amount is assigned.

Which product scope should the quote cover?

ProFicient SPC applications and the specifically quoted database, workstations, DMS, DCS, monitoring, scheduler, dashboard, reporting, authentication and collector components. Enact, GTS, MSA, ProFicient on Demand and other Advantive products or services are not assumed included. Confirm current version support, discontinued components, migration path and deployment model in writing.

Ask the vendor to identify the product, region, modules, billing unit, contract term and included services in writing.

    Offline work and integrations

The official architecture depends on Windows networking and an ODBC data source. Test outage, local buffering if offered, duplicate prevention, ordering, timestamps, retry, reconciliation and alert behavior in the exact proposed architecture.

    What we could not verify

    1 not verified · 4 depend on scope · 4 notes
    • Not verified in the sources: Disconnected collection.
    • Depends on plan or configuration: Automated collection services; Compliance and validation support; Deployment flexibility; Enact coexistence or migration.
    • A trial was not found on the reviewed pages.
    • Not established.
    • On-premises hosting does not prove that a workstation, gage interface or service buffers data when its database, network or collector is unavailable.
    • Vendor performance and compliance statements were not independently verified.

    Demo script

Pilot: measurement to reproducible SPC result

    1. Prepare an agreed dataset with units, timestamps, part, process and test identifiers, subgrouping, specifications and expected calculations.
    2. Load it through the exact manual, gage, file or automated route proposed for production.
    3. Reproduce the agreed chart, limits, alarms and capability results and explain every discrepancy.
    4. Export the evidence and approve configuration only after quality, operations and IT sign off the calculation and data lineage.

    Out-of-control and out-of-specification response

    1. Trigger one statistical-control-rule signal and one separate specification violation using controlled data.
    2. Verify routing, recipients, timestamps and that operators can distinguish the two event types.
    3. Require an assignable-cause and corrective-action code, attach the investigation evidence and keep product disposition under authorized quality control.
    4. Confirm closure, escalation and follow-up effectiveness without treating code entry as proof of root cause resolution.

    Data correction and audit-trail challenge

    1. Enter a known reading, then edit, disable and attempt to delete it under different roles.
    2. Require reason-for-change and verify original and new values, user, time and status in traceability records and reports.
    3. Attempt unauthorized changes to data, limits, charts and security configuration.
    4. Export the audit evidence and compare it with the buyer's retention, review and electronic-signature requirements.

Ask the vendor to show you

    1. Which exact ProFicient version, applications, services and deployment model are included, supported and licensed?
    2. Which control charts, capability calculations, alarm rules, subgrouping and short-run or non-normal methods apply to our agreed dataset?
    3. How are statistical-control signals distinguished from specification violations, and who may change each limit?
    4. For every source, is collection manual, device-triggered, file-based, database-driven, PLC or test-equipment integration, and which DMS, DCS, EIS, RAMS or REMS component is required?
    5. What happens to readings, timestamps, order, duplicates, alerts and operator prompts during collector, database or network outages and recovery?
    6. How are edited, disabled or deleted readings traced, and can reason-for-change be mandatory for our intended use?

    Questions the sources answer

Is ProFicient the same product as Enact?

No. Advantive presents ProFicient as plant-level and on-premises SPC and Enact as a separate cloud product for enterprise visibility, while also describing use together. Require separate product, data-flow and licensing scope.

    Does on-premises ProFicient work offline?

Not necessarily. The documented architecture uses Windows networking and an ODBC data source. Offline buffering and recovery were not established; test database, network and collector outages.

    Can ProFicient schedule quality checks?

Yes. Dynamic Scheduler can prompt for sampling at configured intervals or events and support workflow transitions. It requires database and workstation configuration and should be tested against real shifts and process states.

Does ProFicient keep an audit trail?

It can. Official help documents configurable database auditing, original-record retention and reason-for-change fields. These controls must be enabled, tested and reviewed for the intended tables and regulated use.

    Does ProFicient support corrective-action workflows?

RAMS can require assignable-cause and corrective-action codes for configured events. Buyers should keep investigation quality, product disposition, approvals and effectiveness checks in a governed procedure.

Does ProFicient make a process compliant or validated?

No. Advantive describes compliance and validation support, but the buyer remains responsible for intended use, infrastructure, configuration, procedures, testing, approvals and ongoing change control unless a contract assigns specific deliverables.

    Is a free trial available?

No public ProFicient trial entitlement or duration was verified. The site offers a demo and custom commercial conversation; request a controlled evaluation and its limits in writing.

Are all help-documented ProFicient components still supported?

Do not assume so. The official FAQ advises discussing upgrades because some applications and services may have been discontinued. Require a versioned supported-components list and lifecycle or migration plan.
