Where the two scopes differ
The two records describe platforms of different weight. The ComplianceQuest record covers three suites on a Salesforce base: QualityQuest for quality records such as corrective action, documents and training, SafetyQuest for incidents, inspections, permits and environmental workflows, and PartnerQuest for supplier qualification and performance. It stresses that suites are not promised in one licence. The Safesite record covers a phone-based safety app with an admin dashboard: inspection templates, hazards that carry assigned actions, safety meetings with attendance, inspections tied to registered equipment, centrally administered incident reports and certificate records, with insurance sold as a separate offer.
Control depth is documented at different grain. ComplianceQuest describes links from incidents, audits and inspections into corrective action, training and process changes, plus permit checks before issue, and the record asks whether safety corrective action uses the same approval controls as quality. Safesite documents hazard resolution that needs a comment or photo, with no separate verifier stage established, completed inspections that cannot be edited, incident closure with mandatory sections, and an OSHA 300 log option that does not establish automatic submission. Certificate tracking is described as expiry reminders and does not establish course delivery.
Entry terms and assurance differ. ComplianceQuest publishes no platform amount, a demonstration or guided tour does not establish a trial, and its certifications page is said to state ISO 9001 and SOC 2 without a product scope, type or report. Safesite's free plan does not cap members or guests but limits report history to the last 30 days; the Premium figure has an unconfirmed currency and billing basis, a 30-day Premium trial is advertised, and the record lists no certification. Both vendors document offline inspection use, and permit approval offline is not established for ComplianceQuest.

When each is the safer first demo
Start with ComplianceQuest when
Put ComplianceQuest on the first agenda when separate quality, safety and supplier teams key in the same finding more than once. Ask for one finding to be taken through investigation, corrective action and training, a supplier with an expired document to be traced into its scorecard, and a permit attempted for a worker with lapsed training, with each module named.
Start with Safesite when
Put Safesite on the first agenda when crews need inspections and hazards on phones this month. Ask to see a checklist that requires a photo when an answer is negative, a hazard closed out with a comment or photo, a certificate approaching expiry in the summary email, and a completed inspection that needs a correction.
A two-week evaluation plan
Ask ComplianceQuest
- Which QualityQuest, SafetyQuest and PartnerQuest modules are in the quote, and which Salesforce entitlements and contributor licences does each user group need?
- Which implementation, migration and validation services are included, and how are configuration changes controlled after go-live?
Ask Safesite
- Do guests, supervisors and contractors count as billable members, and in which currency is the displayed Premium rate billed?
- What is the approved route for exporting history older than thirty days and for correcting a finished inspection?
Week 1: run an inspection with a required photo in each product, first connected and then with the device offline, and compare the records after reconnection. Safesite offers a free plan and a thirty-day Premium trial, so start there; ComplianceQuest's demonstrations are not a trial, so set up a vendor-run environment with named test users and fixed dates first.
Week 2: in ComplianceQuest, qualify a supplier with an expired certificate, record a supplier nonconformance and trace it into the scorecard, then attempt a permit for a worker with lapsed training. In Safesite, close a hazard with photo evidence, read the certificate reminder email and export a report. Close by writing down each duty that would require another module, licence or tool.
Worked evaluation scenarios
These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.
Hypothetical: a food maker with forty suppliers and twenty-five site contractors
A food manufacturer has forty suppliers and twenty-five contractors who work on site, and certificates from both groups expire through the year. The ComplianceQuest record describes supplier qualification, document collaboration, audits and scorecards in PartnerQuest, which is quoted separately. The Safesite record describes personnel and company certificates with attached files and expiry reminders in summary emails, and does not describe a supplier lifecycle. Load one expired certificate in each product and note who is told, how soon, and what the next step is. In ComplianceQuest, follow a supplier correction through to the scorecard. If a reminder email is the only trail, decide who would own the follow-up.
Hypothetical: a 150-person plant costing two quite different routes
A 150-person plant wants a first-year figure for each route before it picks a pilot. The ComplianceQuest record says quotes vary with users and roles, the chosen modules, the number of sites and regions, integrations, the depth of regulatory content and implementation help, and the product sits on Salesforce. In the Safesite record, no-cost use is capped by a 30-day look-back on reports, while Premium shows $16 for each member each month in a currency the record could not confirm, with a month-long trial on offer. Ask both vendors to list who counts as a billable user, including supervisors, contractors and guests, and which platform licences each needs. If ComplianceQuest's quote adds Salesforce licences, or Safesite's member count exceeds the staff you expected, rebuild the comparison from those lines.
Hypothetical: a lapsed training record and a permit that should not be issued
A contractor's confined-space training lapses on Tuesday, and the permit for Wednesday's job should not go to that worker. The ComplianceQuest record says the SafetyQuest pages describe checks on training, authorisation and equipment ahead of permit issue, and asks buyers to test whether the rule blocks or only warns. The Safesite record describes certificate expiry reminders and no permit workflow. Lapse the training in each product, try to assign the worker to the job, and note whether the system refuses, warns or says nothing, and what trail it leaves. If the answer is only an email, treat the control as procedural and plan a manual gate.
What the records do not establish
ComplianceQuest
- A platform amount, or a free trial.
- Disconnected permit issuance or approval routing; only offline safety inspection checklists are documented.
- That the permit rule blocks a worker with lapsed training, rather than only warning.
- The type, scope and report behind the SOC 2 statement, and the product scope of the ISO 9001 statement.
Safesite
- Which currency and billing period the shown Premium figure refers to.
- A verifier or rejection stage for a resolved hazard.
- Permit-to-work, supplier qualification or controlled documents, none of which the record describes.
- Anonymous reporting, or a general API beyond report export.
Neither product
- Whether either product reduces findings left open or time spent on audits: no outcome data was reviewed.
- How customers rate each product, because neither record carries an independent review.
- Results from using either product in your own setting.
