    Where the two scopes differ

The two records describe unrelated programmes. The 1factory record covers manufacturing quality: drawing-linked inspection plans, first article reports, SPC, selected-file and automated CMM import, nonconformance and corrective-action workflows, incoming inspection and gage calibration, with Quality Control, Supplier Collaboration and QMS sold as separate subscription units. The Cardinus record covers workplace assessment: display screen equipment programmes in three delivery models (specialist assessments, software for internal delivery, and a managed programme), with industrial ergonomics tools and a driver product treated as separate scopes. Each record warns against reading its own range as one licence.

Published money and trial terms differ. 1factory shows $75 per Quality Control user a month, $20 per connected supplier and $20 per QMS user, each with a minimum, plus a one-year commitment invoiced yearly at the start and no confirmed currency; Enterprise options include automated CMM import, API access and specialist hosting. Cardinus shows no current general amount and the record could not verify an older per-user figure. 1factory's sign-up page is a demonstration request, while Cardinus invites new customers to talk to its team about a free-trial option with no duration stated.

Assurance statements are separate for each vendor. 1factory describes a validated instance and optional electronic signatures but assigns intended-use validation to the customer, states SOC 2 Type II for its hosting environments, and applies a FedRAMP Moderate Equivalence statement to its GOV environment only; no report was reviewed. Its Traveler and MES page carries an availability label of December 2026, so it should not be treated as delivered. The Cardinus record lists no certification and notes that its About page says the company is part of the AmWins Group. Neither record establishes offline completion.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with 1factory when

Book 1factory first when part-level inspection evidence is the daily work. Ask to see a drawing revision change the characteristics while earlier results stay retrievable, a real CMM output file with mixed units, and a failed incoming characteristic raising a nonconformance, with the quoted units and Enterprise options marked.

Start with Cardinus Risk Management when

Book Cardinus first when the need is workstation assessment across office, home and hybrid settings. Ask to see the same worker assessed in two locations, a concern escalated to a specialist and traced in PACE, and a manager view of outstanding actions, with Assess, Enable or Partner named for the quote.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask 1factory

    • Which user, supplier and Enterprise lines does the quote contain, in which currency, and how are the one-year term and annual upfront billing stated?
    • Which equipment outputs and ERP interfaces are in scope, and who owns rejected messages and mismatched quantities?

    Ask Cardinus Risk Management

    • Does the proposal mean Assess, Enable or Partner, and who is responsible for each follow-up task?
    • Which industrial ergonomics or driver products, if any, are quoted separately, and what are the trial eligibility, duration and service limits?

Week 1: use one part and one worker. In 1factory, revise a drawing for a representative part, import a real CMM output file and check which characteristics change and how earlier results stay traceable. In Cardinus Healthy Working, complete an office and a home assessment for the same worker and see how unresolved issues are kept apart. 1factory offers a demonstration and Cardinus a request-led trial discussion; neither record gives a duration, so agree dates in writing.

Week 2: follow a problem to closure. In 1factory, raise a nonconformance from a flagged measurement, record a disposition and corrective action, and export the history. In Cardinus, escalate a concern to a specialist and trace it in PACE with the manager view. Then switch the connection off at an inspection station for 1factory and on a home device for Cardinus, since offline completion is unverified in both.

    Worked evaluation scenarios

These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.

Hypothetical: a machining firm costing two different programmes

A precision machining firm has twelve inspectors, a quality manager and a sixty-person office wing, thirty of whom work from home part of the week. The 1factory record charges for Quality Control by user and month, starting at five seats, with a one-year commitment invoiced yearly, and leaves the currency unconfirmed. The Cardinus record describes programme-specific proposals in which participants, services, languages and renewals are itemised, and finds no current general amount. List who would be a named user or participant in each product, then request first-year totals. If the inspectors also need the QMS or supplier units, or the office programme needs specialist assessments on top of software, expect the totals to exceed the first figure you were given.

Hypothetical: an auditor asks who closed a corrective item

An auditor selects one corrective item from each programme and asks who closed it, when and on what evidence. The 1factory record describes nonconformance and corrective-action workflows within the separately licensed QMS, roles, a change history and an e-signature option, while placing validation work on the customer. The Cardinus record describes PACE features for assigning tasks, escalating, tracking resolution and keeping an audit trail, and asks for manager access and exports to be confirmed. Close one item in each product with a second person approving, then export the history. If the export omits the user, time or evidence, or the closure can be edited without a trace, record that against the quote.

Hypothetical: a quiet inspection bay and a home worker on weak broadband

One site has an inspection bay where the network drops during shifts, and a hybrid employee has unreliable home broadband. The 1factory record says disconnected inspection entry was not established and that neither a local measurement file nor an on-premise hosting choice counts as offline working. The Cardinus record says no complete offline assessment or training workflow was established and that a web form or a downloadable file is not evidence of finishing a task offline. On the real device in each setting, start a task, lose the connection, finish it and reconnect. Note what is queued, what is lost and what the user is told. If recovery needs a person to re-enter data, treat offline use as unproven.

What the records do not establish

    1factory

    • Disconnected inspection entry or synchronisation, or the currency behind the published prices.
    • That automated CMM capture, API access or hosting choices come with the standard subscription: the pricing page lists them as Enterprise options.
    • A standard implementation duration, or a free trial.
    • That the Traveler and MES product, labelled December 2026, is available.

    Cardinus Risk Management

    • A current general subscription amount, or the older per-user figure as a live offer.
    • Offline completion of assessments or training.
    • That industrial motion analysis or driver checks belong to the display screen equipment programme.
    • The duration and terms of the free-trial option.

    Neither product

    • Which product improves quality results, injury rates or audit outcomes: no outcome data was reviewed and the two serve different work.
    • Customer satisfaction or reference experience, which neither record covers.
    • Results from handling either product directly.
