    Where the two scopes differ

These records describe different jobs, and neither describes the other's. 1factory is described around the inspection of manufactured parts: drawing-linked plans, first article reports, process-capability charts, measurement imports and gage records, with nonconformance, corrective-action and supplier workflows in a separately licensed QMS scope. AlertMedia is described as a set of selectable solutions around people during an event: targeted notifications with response tracking, response plans with assigned tasks, traveller itineraries and briefs, and timed lone-worker sessions with a monitoring team.

Buying terms and interfaces are set out differently. 1factory publishes dollar prices per quality-control user, connected supplier and QMS user with minimums on a term of at least a year, and quotes Enterprise options such as automated equipment capture, interface access, hosting and single sign-on. AlertMedia describes custom pricing by solution, no setup fees and included onboarding, and the record does not substantiate an earlier per-user figure. Interfaces differ in purpose as well: 1factory's cover part, order, inspection and measurement data, whereas AlertMedia's materials name HR and identity systems for contact data.

Connectivity and assurance are open points for both. The 1factory record did not establish disconnected inspection entry. For AlertMedia, mobile access does not establish offline administration of notifications or incident plans, and the one documented offline behaviour is a lone-worker countdown that continues without signal and syncs later. The 1factory record carries vendor-stated SOC 2 Type II, plus a FedRAMP Moderate Equivalence statement for its GOV environment only; the AlertMedia record lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type 2 (report under NDA), TX-RAMP and Cyber Essentials from its trust centre. No certificate or report was reviewed for either.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with 1factory when

1factory suits a first demo when the opening requirement is proof about a manufactured part. Bring a revised drawing, a real measurement file and one failing lot, then ask to see how the revision, the sampling rule and the corrective action are linked and who may change each.

    Start with AlertMedia when

AlertMedia suits a first demo when the opening requirement is reaching a defined group and seeing who has answered. Bring a test roster and one site to target, then ask to see unanswered contacts, a task handed to another department and the report that closes the drill.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask 1factory

    • Which of the user minimums and which Enterprise options (automated capture, interface access, hosting, single sign-on) are in the quote, and what is the billing currency?
    • Which notifications and escalations in the QMS scope can reach a person who has no login, if any?

    Ask AlertMedia

    • Which named solutions are on the quote, how are contacts and channel use charged, and where does included onboarding stop?
    • Which HR or identity connector, fields and refresh interval apply, and how does a leaver drop out of targeting?

Week 1: give each product an event of its own. In 1factory, receive a lot against an incoming plan, fail one characteristic and raise a nonconformance and a supplier request. In AlertMedia, load a test roster, target a site with a drill message, follow up the unanswered contacts and export the drill record. Neither record verifies a free trial, so agree vendor-run workspaces on the options you would buy.

Week 2: test the data feeds. In 1factory, import a measurement file with mixed units and pass one work order through the interface route. In AlertMedia, change a test user's site and status in the source system and check targeting, then repeat the incident workflow on the phones your responders carry. Ask each vendor to total the quote with everything you used.

    Worked evaluation scenarios

These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.

Hypothetical: a shipped lot fails and shift leads must hear within the hour

A customer reports a defect in a lot that has already shipped, and the shift leads on three sites need to know quickly. The 1factory record describes complaints and nonconformances in its separately licensed QMS scope, with notifications and escalations, but a task reminder is not a message to a chosen audience. The AlertMedia pages describe selecting an audience, sending across channels, tracking responses and assigning follow-up through Incident Response, which is a separate solution. Open a complaint in 1factory and send a drill message in AlertMedia to the same three leads. Compare who is reached, who confirms and what record exists afterwards. If the two records have to be tied together by hand, name the owner.

Hypothetical: a leaver is still on the distribution list and in the quality system

An inspector leaves on Friday and a manager asks whether that person can still receive alerts or open quality records on Monday. The AlertMedia pages name several HR and identity products as sources, and the record separates synchronising contact data from sign-in and removing access. The 1factory pricing page lists single sign-on as an Enterprise option, and its record describes no HR synchronisation. Change a test user's status in the source system and check alert targeting in AlertMedia and access in 1factory separately. If either needs a manual step, record who performs it and how soon.

Hypothetical: a buyer needs to compare two very different quotes

A procurement team asks both vendors to price the same 150-person organisation. The 1factory pricing page lists separate monthly units for quality-control users, connected suppliers and QMS users, each with a minimum, billed annually from the start of a one-year term, with quoted Enterprise options. The AlertMedia pricing page says pricing is custom, solutions can be selected one at a time or as a platform, and there are no setup fees, with onboarding and training included. Give both the same list of people and sites and ask each to name every line, unit and exclusion. If a minimum applies to a role you barely use, or a solution is missing from the AlertMedia quote, the totals are not comparable.

What the records do not establish

    1factory

    • Whether inspection entry or synchronisation works with no network.
    • An implementation timetable, or a review score verified independently.
    • Equipment compatibility with automated capture, or a turnkey ERP link behind the published interface.

    AlertMedia

    • A list price for any AlertMedia solution, or a self-service tenant.
    • Incident planning with no connection, or an SOS that travels while the phone has no coverage.
    • That the incident, travel and lone-worker solutions come with a notification licence.

    Neither product

    • Which product fits your organisation: they do different jobs and no outcome comparison was reviewed.
    • Whether any stated attestation covers the product you would buy, since no certificate or report was reviewed.

How should I compare offline capability?
Use the exact proposed mobile application and plan. Download required data, disconnect, create a record with a photo, reconnect and inspect synchronization. Record which preparation and tasks require connectivity.
How should I decide between these products?
Set acceptance criteria for your actual workflow. Complete the same demo, record observed results separately from vendor statements and resolve remaining questions in a scoped pilot. The linked profiles show the sources and review status for each product.
