    Where the two scopes differ

These records describe different groups of people. D4H is described as software for teams that respond to emergencies: an Incident Management channel per incident, started from a play that loads task boards, status boards, weather and forms, alongside multichannel alerting, responder qualification expectations, exercises and attendance, equipment inspections, and health and safety reports that create corrective-action tasks. SOSAFE is described as a way for every worker and contractor to raise findings with photo, video or audio, assign them with deadlines and close them with a digital signature, plus inspections, an anonymous channel and live location and workload for assignment. The SOSAFE record says nothing on investigating incidents, keeping regulatory records or issuing permits.

Identity and pricing are different. D4H has been an EcoOnline business since an acquisition announced on 24 June 2025, sells five separately tiered modules, and lists indicative annual prices on a US page, with a compulsory cloud plan priced at a quarter of the annual subscription; the record found that a 30-day money-back guarantee takes the place of a free trial and that regional price pages were not compared. SOSAFE is a Chilean company whose homepage now advertises a home alarm subscription and a community app that sit outside the workplace product, and it is unrelated to the cybersecurity-awareness vendor SoSafe. It publishes no workplace price.

Connectivity and interfaces are documented unevenly. The D4H help article limits offline use to channels that were already synchronised and recommends it for short interruptions, and the record could not establish offline behaviour for Alerting or the Team Manager modules. SOSAFE's mining page and app listing say report creation works offline, while the record leaves offline inspections, closure approval and QR reporting open. D4H documents separate APIs for Team Manager and Operations Center; SOSAFE advertises an API in its Portal with no public reference. D4H names ISO 27001 as a vendor statement, and the SOSAFE record lists no certification.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with D4H when

D4H suits a first demo when the opening requirement is coordinating a team through a live incident and showing it was ready. Bring one play for a real incident type, one equipment item with a failing step and one qualification that is about to lapse, then ask to see the channel on two devices, the repair and the gap.

    Start with SOSAFE when

SOSAFE suits a first demo when the opening requirement is findings from the whole workforce, including contractors. Bring an offline finding with audio, a QR report from a visitor who has no login and a closure that is rejected once, then ask to see each in the Portal with its deadline and signature history.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask D4H

    • Which of the five modules and which tier of each does the quote name, which cloud tier applies, and are the 25% charge and any tier minimums inside the figure?
    • Which devices must open a channel before an outage, and what happens to offline edits after someone changes a template?

    Ask SOSAFE

    • Is the workplace product quoted apart from the residential and community services on the same website, and what do its licences, integrations and implementation include?
    • Which contractors and visitors may report without registering in your configuration, and how is a closure signed and kept?

Week 1: run the interruption test in both. In D4H, start a channel from a play, open it on two devices, take one offline, change one board row on both and reconnect, then read the Log. In SOSAFE GO, raise a finding in flight mode with a photo and audio, reconnect and compare capture and upload times in the Portal. D4H offers a 30-day money-back guarantee in place of a trial; no trial is verified for SOSAFE, so ask for a vendor-run workspace.

Week 2: test the follow-through. In D4H, fail an equipment inspection step, raise a repair, check the item's status and try to amend the inspection two days later; set a qualification expectation and let one certificate lapse. In SOSAFE, send a closure back once, approve the next with a signature, let a visitor report through a QR code and note who can see live location. Finish with each vendor's written total.

    Worked evaluation scenarios

These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.

Hypothetical: a rescue team finds a failed harness on Friday evening

A volunteer rescue team inspects its harnesses and one step fails. The D4H help articles say a failed step fails the whole inspection, a repair can be raised against the step, an overdue item can be set to Unserviceable, and after a day only an account owner may amend the inspection. The SOSAFE record describes inspections and checklists that create tasks, and findings closed with a signature, but describes no equipment register or barcode scanning. Fail one step in D4H, raise the repair and try to edit the inspection two days later. In SOSAFE, build the same checklist and see how the failed step becomes a tracked finding. If equipment status matters, ask how it is recorded.

Hypothetical: a coordinator's laptop drops off the network mid-incident

During a large exercise a coordinator's laptop loses its connection for twenty minutes while two people keep editing the same task board. The D4H offline article says a channel must be started and opened online first, that offline data survives only if the cache is not cleared, that template changes by others can corrupt it, and that offline use suits short interruptions. The SOSAFE listing says report creation works offline, and its record does not describe offline inspections or closure. Edit one board row on two devices in D4H, reconnect and see which value is kept and where the Log shows the other. In SOSAFE, raise a finding offline and compare the times.

Hypothetical: finance wants a first-year figure before a pilot

A finance team asks for a first-year figure for a crisis team of thirty people plus a site safety programme. The D4H US price page lists indicative annual prices by module and tier with capacity limits, for example Incident Management Basic at USD 5,300 with caps of 25 users and two concurrent incidents, plus a compulsory cloud plan priced at a quarter of the annual subscription, and quotes Enterprise tiers. The SOSAFE record shows no workplace price and says the vendor contrasts itself with per-user pricing without naming a model. Ask both for one written quote naming modules, tiers, currency and term. If a tier limit is lower than your headcount, the published starting price is not your price.

What the records do not establish

    D4H

    • Offline behaviour for Alerting or the Team Manager modules, or for a channel that was never synchronised.
    • Prices on the regional price pages, which the record did not compare.
    • That Alerting features marked as coming in 2026 exist in your account.
    • Fit as a general incident system for a site that is not an emergency-response team.

    SOSAFE

    • A workplace price, plan or trial.
    • Offline inspections, closure approval or QR reporting.
    • Whether reporters must register, as the vendor's English and Spanish pages differ.
    • A public API reference.

    Neither product

    • Which product speeds up a response or closes more findings: no outcome data was reviewed.
    • Whether the security statements hold for your deployment: D4H's ISO 27001 is vendor-named with no certificate reviewed, and SOSAFE's record lists none.

    D4H vs SOSAFE | FAQ

    Which product is cheaper?
Comparable total cost has not been established. Request the same applications, users, sites, configuration, migration, integrations and support period from both vendors. Published entry pricing is subject to the plan conditions shown in each profile.
How should I compare offline capability?
Use the exact proposed mobile application and plan. Download required data, disconnect, create a record with a photo, reconnect and inspect synchronization. Record which preparation and tasks require connectivity.
How should I decide between these products?
Set acceptance criteria for your actual workflow. Complete the same demo, record observed results separately from vendor statements and resolve remaining questions in a scoped pilot. The linked profiles show the sources and review status for each product.
