    Where the two scopes differ

The two records differ in breadth. The Enablon record describes a modular portfolio: safety, environment, process safety, work control and ESG reporting, plus a mobile app and integration tooling, which the record presents as distinct scopes and not interchangeable licence editions. The SOSAFE record describes two workplace products, the GO field app and the Portal, built around findings that workers and contractors raise with photo, video or audio, assignment with deadlines, inspections and checklists, signed closure, a confidential reporting route, and live location with workload views. It does not describe incident investigation, recordkeeping or permit workflows.

Identity and access need care in both. The vendor behind SOSAFE is a Chilean firm whose website also promotes a residential alarm service and a community app; neither is the workplace product, and the record keeps it apart from SoSafe, a different vendor in cybersecurity awareness. The record also notes that whether reporters must register differs between the vendor's English and Spanish pages. Enablon is a Wolters Kluwer brand, and the record wants the quote to list applications, sites, roles and mobile workflows individually, because portfolio wording does not establish entitlement to every application.

Offline, integration and price are documented differently. Enablon Go is stated to capture events, inspections, comments and action plans offline, while offline permit authorisation is left unestablished and the Hub development kit is not a turnkey connector. SOSAFE's mining page and app listing state offline report creation in GO; the Portal page mentions data import and export and an API aimed at vehicle GPS, cameras, dispatch and ERP systems, and links no API reference. Neither vendor publishes an amount: Enablon offers a scoped proposal and SOSAFE a quote, with its mining page contrasting itself with per-user pricing without giving a model. Enablon's Vision Platform page states a yearly SOC 2 attestation, with the report not reviewed; the SOSAFE record names no certification.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with Enablon when

Put Enablon first when field findings must connect with permits, isolations, process hazard work or ESG data in one programme. Ask for a schedule that names each application, site and role in the quote, then watch an offline finding reach a reviewer and a job with overlapping work move through the quoted control-of-work applications.

    Start with SOSAFE when

Put SOSAFE first when the immediate aim is for all workers and contractors to raise findings on their phones, with deadlines and signed closure. Ask to see a report from someone without an account, what that person sees afterwards, a rejected and then approved closure, and who may view live location and when sharing stops.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Enablon

    • Which applications, sites, roles and mobile workflows does the quote name, given that Go, Control of Work, process safety and ESG are described as distinct scopes?
    • Which field tasks run offline, and which permit, isolation or change approvals need a connection?

    Ask SOSAFE

    • Can contractors report without registering, and which product pages or modules does that answer cover, given that the English and Spanish pages differ?
    • Is there an API reference, an authentication method and a named owner for a link to your ERP or dispatch system?

Week 1: run the same offline finding in both. In Enablon Go, prepare an inspection with the media you need in the quoted deployment; in SOSAFE GO, create an unsafe-condition finding with a photo and audio. Reconnect, compare the received records, times, assignees and attachments, then reject one closure and see what history is kept. A verified free trial is not shown for either, so arrange a vendor-run setup and dates in advance.

Week 2: in Enablon, run a maintenance job with overlapping work through the quoted permit and isolation applications and change a condition mid-job. In SOSAFE, take a QR report from a person without an account, agree who sees location data, and register an emailed request in the Portal. Finish by listing every duty that needs a further order: investigation, recordkeeping and permits where the SOSAFE record is silent, and any Enablon application missing from the quote.

    Worked evaluation scenarios

These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.

Hypothetical: a quarry where visiting hauliers should report hazards

A quarry sees fifty haulier drivers a week and wants them to report hazards without a licence for each. The SOSAFE record says the vendor's pages disagree: a Spanish mining page lets people scan a code and report without enrolling, whereas the English version starts with installing the app and signing up. The Enablon record documents field capture in Go but does not describe a login-free route for visitors. Print one QR code for the gate, have a driver with a personal phone try to report in each product, and note what the driver needs, what the reviewer receives and what the driver sees afterwards. If registration or a named licence is required, count that administration against the reporting volume you expect.

Hypothetical: a crusher shutdown with overlapping permitted work

A shutdown puts a welding job and an electrical isolation in the same area on the same day, and the site wants one tool to show both. The Enablon record lists permit, isolation and simultaneous-operations applications as separate scopes, with warnings but no established automatic conflict resolution. The SOSAFE record does not describe permit workflows or incident investigation, and lists findings, inspections, assignment and signed closure. Ask each vendor to show where the two jobs would live, who authorises them and what a supervisor sees. If one tool cannot hold the permit, price the second system and the handover between them rather than assuming findings can stand in for permits.

Hypothetical: a remote pit where a finding is raised without signal

A technician finds a leaking hydraulic hose in a pit with no coverage and wants the finding assigned before the shift ends. The Enablon record documents offline events, inspections, comments and action plans in Go, and does not establish offline permit authorisation. The SOSAFE record documents offline report creation in the GO app and does not describe offline inspections, closure sign-off or QR reports. Create the finding with a photo offline in each product, reconnect, then compare capture and upload times, the assignee, the deadline and any duplicate. Reject a closure afterwards and check that the history survives. If a step you rely on only works while connected, write it into the fallback procedure.

What the records do not establish

    Enablon

    • A subscription amount, minimum user count or free trial.
    • Offline permit authorisation, isolation changes or other control-of-work decisions made without a connection.
    • That the Hub development kit amounts to a packaged connector to your own systems.
    • What the SOC 2 attestation behind the vendor's statement actually covers.

    SOSAFE

    • A workplace price, plan or free trial.
    • Offline use for inspections, closure sign-off or QR reports; the record documents only report creation in the GO app.
    • Whether a reporter must register, on which the vendor's pages disagree.
    • Incident investigation, regulatory recordkeeping or permit workflows, none of which the record describes.

    Neither product

    • Whether either product raises reporting volumes, shortens closure times or lowers injury rates: nothing of that kind was measured.
    • How customers rate either product, since legacy ratings are left out of both records.
    • Any result from actually running either product.

Written from the profile records and the decision guide above, not from a hands-on test. Where a record is silent, the page says so instead of filling the gap.
