    Where the two scopes differ

The two records begin from different centres of gravity. Assignar is described as a construction operations platform in which safety paperwork sits beside crew scheduling: custom forms, for example equipment pre-checks and incident reports, with assigned owners, submission statuses and access by user tag, together with worker qualifications and documents that carry expiry alerts. SOSAFE is described as a reporting and closure tool: findings raised with photo, video or audio, a closure deadline, notice to the responsible person and a signed approval, together with inspections and checklists that the customer builds. Neither record establishes how deep an incident investigation goes.

Who may raise a record is the clearest difference. The SOSAFE Spanish mining page says reporting through a QR code needs no registration, but the English page opens with an app download and a registration step, so the two vendor pages disagree and the record marks the point as conditional. The Assignar record describes access through user tags and no route for someone without an account. Scheduling is a second difference: Assignar's help articles say scheduler signals flag missing certifications and role or skill mismatches, which the record reads as decision aids, while the SOSAFE pages describe live location, availability and workload for assignment and say nothing about credentials.

Connectivity, cost and security evidence also differ in shape. Assignar's help article documents offline mode with listed limits and the record marks it conditional; SOSAFE's mining page and app listing say report creation works offline in SOSAFE GO, and the community app needs a connection. Neither vendor publishes a workplace price: Assignar offers a demo-led test drive and lists the public API as an add-on, and SOSAFE contrasts itself with per-user pricing without naming a model. The Assignar trust centre shows SOC 2 Type I and ISO 27001 as compliant, with no report reviewed; the SOSAFE record lists no certification, which says nothing about its controls.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with Assignar when

Assignar suits a first demo when the opening requirement is a crew and its paperwork. Bring one worker with a lapsed credential and one equipment pre-check, then ask to see scheduling, the form, the reviewer's view and the same form completed in flight mode. Ask which of those steps are in the quoted scope.

    Start with SOSAFE when

SOSAFE suits a first demo when the opening requirement is findings from everyone on site, including people without a login. Bring one offline finding with audio, one QR report and one closure that gets rejected, then ask to see the Portal record, deadline and signature history for each.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Assignar

    • Which Operations features, field users, onboarding, regional scope and any Pay offering are separate lines, and is the public API quoted as an add-on?
    • Which forms, assignments and documents stay available offline on your handsets, and what happens to an attachment or to a form that two people edit?

    Ask SOSAFE

    • What do the quoted SOSAFE GO and Portal licences cover, including contractor and QR reporting, integrations and implementation, and in which currency and for which term?
    • Can a reporter with no account use a site QR code in your configuration, and what can that person see after submitting?

Week 1: run one unsafe-condition report through both. In Assignar, complete an equipment pre-check with a required photo, then repeat in flight mode and check the record, status and reviewer after it synchronises. In SOSAFE GO, raise a finding in flight mode with a photo and a voice note, reconnect, then check the Portal for the capture time against the upload time. No verified free trial is recorded for either, so agree a vendor-run workspace and test users first.

Week 2: test the control each product advertises at its second step. In Assignar, schedule one worker with a current credential and one with an expired credential and note whether the scheduler warns, blocks or says nothing. In SOSAFE, send one closure back, approve the next attempt with a signature, then let a person without an account report through a QR code and record what each person can see. Finish with the one integration you need and who maintains it.

    Worked evaluation scenarios

These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.

Hypothetical: a subcontractor's ticket lapses before Monday's shift

A civil contractor has forty crew members and a subcontractor whose plant ticket expired over the weekend. The Assignar pages describe expiry alerts on worker and subcontractor documents, and its help articles describe scheduler signals for missing certifications, which the record calls decision aids, not a documented hard block. The SOSAFE pages describe live location, availability and workload for assignment, and the record describes no credential tracking. Create two test workers in Assignar, one current and one expired, schedule both and write down whether the scheduler warns, blocks or stays silent. Ask SOSAFE where a credential check would sit. If the answer is a separate system, add its cost and the handoff to the comparison.

Hypothetical: a haul-road hazard seen by a visiting contractor

A visiting contractor spots a damaged barrier and has no account with the host site. The SOSAFE Spanish mining page says a QR code report needs no registration, while the English page begins with downloading the app and registering, so the record treats this as conditional. The Assignar record describes forms with assigned owners, statuses and user-tag access, and describes no route for a person outside the account. Place a QR code in a test area and ask someone with no login to report through it. Record what they are asked to enter, who is told, and what the reporter can see afterwards. If a registration step appears, decide whether it suits visitors.

Hypothetical: a quarry where the signal drops behind the screening plant

A supervisor works behind a screening plant where reception fails for most of a shift and needs to record a finding and a form. The Assignar help article documents an automatic offline mode and a manual one, covering forms other than Collaborative Forms, timesheets and nearby assignments, and the record leaves attachments and conflicts unverified. The SOSAFE listing says report creation works offline, and the record does not describe offline inspections or closure approval. Switch each phone to flight mode, create the record with a photo, reconnect and compare times, attachments and the final status. If the form you need is outside the offline list, record that as a gap before price enters the discussion.

What the records do not establish

    Assignar

    • A subscription amount, or an unrestricted free trial.
    • That attachments, conflict handling and recovery work offline for the forms you need.
    • That scheduler signals stop a worker with an expired credential from being dispatched.
    • Depth of specialist incident investigation, or of any permit-to-work control.

    SOSAFE

    • A workplace price, plan structure or trial.
    • Offline inspections, closure approval or QR reporting.
    • Whether a reporter must register in your configuration, since the vendor's English and Spanish pages differ.
    • A public API reference, or workflows for investigating incidents, keeping regulatory records or issuing permits.

    Neither product

    • Which product gets reports raised or closed faster: no hands-on use and no customer data were reviewed.
    • Whether either vendor's security statements hold for your deployment, since no audit report was reviewed.

Written from the profile records and the decision guide above, not from a hands-on test. Where a record is silent, the page says so instead of filling the gap.
