    Where the two scopes differ

Both records describe an occupational safety offering that sits inside a wider risk and insurance portfolio, and both warn against reading the portfolio as one licence. The Origami Risk record lists EHS, risk management information system, governance and insurance capabilities on a shared platform, with a field application called Origami Mobile that is not evidence that every desktop process works offline. The Riskonnect record covers health and safety, insurable risk, governance and resilience, and says its profile concentrates on Health & Safety and its link to claims. For either one, the proposal has to name the EHS modules, and also the claims or risk-register scope if you expect them to be connected.

The strongest difference in the records is what is documented about the field. Origami Risk is documented with offline mobile tasks that synchronise after reconnection, annotated photos and video, voice-to-text, scheduled audits assigned by role or location with corrective follow-up, and shared-code or QR access that is not treated as anonymous. The Riskonnect record says the reviewed Health & Safety sources do not establish disconnected capture or synchronisation, and warns against transferring an offline claim from another Riskonnect product. That is a gap in the evidence reviewed, not a statement that the capability is absent, and it is the first thing to test.

The two records also differ in how the delivery is described. Origami Risk lists add-on regulatory audit content, an integration marketplace and a developer portal, and separately scoped process-safety, chemical, environmental and occupational health areas, each to be confirmed as purchased modules. Riskonnect describes a claims solution with assignment, reserves, settlement and closure, product-specific APIs for its different product families, three named implementation approaches (Essentials, Pro Configuration and Tailored Configuration), and health and safety analytics with OSHA recordability and submission. Neither record gives a numeric subscription: Origami Risk says contact the vendor, and Riskonnect describes project scale, complexity and customisation as the cost drivers.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with Origami Risk when

Origami Risk is the safer first demo when frontline reporting has to work in places with poor coverage and the same events must later inform risk or claims teams. Begin with a disconnected inspection that includes a photo, then show how a failed item becomes assigned follow-up, and only afterwards ask what links to the claims side. If external workers will report, ask which identity applies to a shared code or QR route before you judge it.

    Start with Riskonnect when

Riskonnect is the safer first demo when the question is the handoff between the safety team and an insurance or claims team, and when the interfaces and configuration matter more than field use. Begin with a safety event, show what moves into a claim and who is refused access to financial or personal claim data, then ask which implementation approach would deliver the interface. Treat offline use as an open question until a demonstration answers it for each task you need.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Origami Risk

    • Ask for the EHS modules, mobile users, sites, any claims or risk-register scope, implementation, data migration, connector charges, storage and support on separate lines, with currency and renewal terms.
    • Ask which forms and reference data are available offline, how long a login stays valid without a connection, and what regulatory audit content is added and by whom it is updated.

    Ask Riskonnect

    • Ask which Health & Safety modules and claims licences are quoted, which fields pass from incident intake into a claim, and which roles may open sensitive records on each side.
    • Ask what the Essentials, Pro Configuration and Tailored Configuration approaches deliver for your process, and what acceptance criteria are written for each.

Week 1, the field and the first handoff. Prepare an inspection on a phone while connected, disconnect, complete it with a photo, reconnect and check the record and any duplicate. On Origami Risk, also test dictation with the connection off in your crew language. On Riskonnect, ask for an airplane-mode demonstration of each task you need, since no reviewed source shows it, and write down which tasks are not supported. Neither record establishes a free trial, so request a vendor-run environment.

Week 2, the record that leaves safety. On Origami Risk, route a contractor hazard to an authorised internal role and check that the contractor cannot see unrelated events or claims records, then test a permit with an isolation and a missing hazard acknowledgement if those modules are quoted. On Riskonnect, create the proposed claims handoff, reconcile the common fields, simulate a failed interface import and ask who owns recovery. Finish by comparing each quote with the module names you saw operating.

What the records do not establish

    Origami Risk

    • A numeric subscription price, or an unrestricted free trial.
    • Offline approvals in the risk register, offline use of every portfolio process, or dictation without a connection by device and language.
    • That the marketplace or developer portal covers the EHS records and operations you need, or the cost of a connector.

    Riskonnect

    • A numeric Health & Safety subscription or a free trial.
    • Any offline Health & Safety task, or how a failed upload is resolved.
    • Whether safety assessment or compliance obligations are inside a Health & Safety licence or in a separately licensed risk or compliance module.

    Neither product

    • Which suite is cheaper or faster to deploy: both records describe cost drivers, not amounts.
    • That either product satisfies your regulator or insurer: both reviews rely on vendor material, not testing or customer references.

Origami Risk vs Riskonnect | FAQ

    Which product is cheaper?
Comparable total cost has not been established. Request the same applications, users, sites, configuration, migration, integrations and support period from both vendors. Published entry pricing is subject to the plan conditions shown in each profile.
How should I compare offline capability?
Use the exact proposed mobile application and plan. Download required data, disconnect, create a record with a photo, reconnect and inspect synchronization. Record which preparation and tasks require connectivity.
How should I decide between these products?
Set acceptance criteria for your actual workflow. Complete the same demo, record observed results separately from vendor statements and resolve remaining questions in a scoped pilot. The linked profiles show the sources and review status for each product.
