Where the two scopes differ
Each record separates a family of applications from the bundle a buyer might imagine. The VelocityEHS record describes named applications under the Accelerate name for safety, chemical management, ergonomics and operational risk, while environmental compliance, sustainability and the contractor and permit products are scoped independently. The Evotix record describes two products: Professional, built on Assure, for incidents, risk assessments, inspections, training and contractor, asset and environmental records, and Enterprise, built on Evotix 360, with broader operational-risk, chemical, health and sustainability modules. Both records warn against assuming that a published range is one subscription.
Specialist depth sits in different places. VelocityEHS documents industrial hygiene sampling, industrial and office ergonomics, with a desktop strength tool sold separately, and chemical tools with a mobile companion. Evotix documents psychosocial hazard management with ISO 45003 alignment wording, a mobile app with dictation and photo markup, QR-linked equipment instructions and, in the Enterprise list, permit, change and isolation modules. For the Evotix permit modules the record notes that the Enterprise page lists them and the Professional page does not, so the edition decides the answer.
Commercial and assurance evidence differs. On a 26 September 2026 check, the VelocityEHS record found no price page, only one-off licence fees for a single desktop tool, and treats the free sheet offer as no substitute for a platform trial. Evotix publishes no amount either, but its pricing page names users, sites, modules, support and integrations as factors and calls implementation a separate one-time fee. Evotix names SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022 and Cyber Essentials on its trust centres, with nothing reviewed; the VelocityEHS record names no certification or attestation. Both vendors document offline capture of incidents and hazards, and neither record extends that to every module.

When each is the safer first demo
Start with VelocityEHS when
Start the VelocityEHS call with the chemical, ergonomics or industrial hygiene work you need covered. Ask which application holds each item, then ask to see a saved sheet retrieved offline and an environmental obligation shown separately from a hazardous-work permit, with the quote line for each.
Start with Evotix when
Start the Evotix call by naming the edition. Ask for the incident, risk, audit and training flows in Professional first, then ask whether any Enterprise module is needed for permits, change control or chemicals, and see a hazard logged offline by voice with an annotated photo, plus the OSHA or RIDDOR output.
A two-week evaluation plan
Ask VelocityEHS
- Which application sits behind each requirement, and are permit to work, contractor safety, environmental and sustainability applications priced apart from the safety suite?
- Which records are saved to each mobile app before fieldwork, and how does a revised sheet reach a device?
Ask Evotix
- Which edition and which modules does the quote name for each requirement, and what does the separate implementation fee cover?
- Which OSHA or RIDDOR forms and acknowledgements does the quoted edition produce, and who owns electronic submission?
Week 1: put the phone in flight mode and record a hazard with a picture in each product, then reconnect and compare the action, owner and history. In VelocityEHS, download a company checklist first; in Evotix, try the voice and annotation tools on the crew's phones. Free trials are unverified in both records, so fix test access, users and dates in advance.
Week 2: take one sample injury through each product's recordkeeping output for the countries you operate in. In VelocityEHS, run an environmental obligation and a work permit as two separate exercises. In Evotix, alter a risk control following an inspection and check who has to review it, and, if Enterprise is in scope, open a permit or lockout record. Finish by listing each requirement that sits in a separately sold application or a higher edition.
Worked evaluation scenarios
These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.
Hypothetical: a group with plants in Ohio and Yorkshire that must file injury records
A group has one plant in Ohio and one in Yorkshire, and each site must keep injury records in its own country's format. The VelocityEHS record says its incident application covers OSHA recordkeeping or ITA reporting, and asks the buyer to confirm jurisdiction, classification rules and who submits. The Evotix record says tracking for OSHA, RIDDOR and further regions can be automated, but gives no edition, rule set, form list, acknowledgement or electronic filing detail. Log one sample injury at each plant in both products and produce the output for each country. If a form must be completed by hand outside the tool, or the submitting person is unclear, note that before comparing prices.
Hypothetical: a store that needs the right safety data sheet when the signal fails
A storekeeper at a chemicals site needs the current safety data sheet while the phone has no signal. The VelocityEHS record describes a distinct chemical app in which stored data sheets, product and container information and past scans remain reachable without signal, and a limited free offer of up to five sheet downloads. The Evotix record lists SDS and chemical management on its Enterprise page and says offline access to a chemical module was not established. In each product, save a sheet, switch to flight mode, retrieve it, then issue a revised sheet and see how it reaches the device. If the revision does not arrive after reconnection, add a manual check to the store routine.
Hypothetical: a requirements list that mixes two kinds of permit
A site's list contains an environmental permit calendar, a hot-work permit and a chemical register, and the buyer assumes one product will hold all three. The VelocityEHS record warns that environmental obligation tracking is not a permit-to-work process, and describes electronic permit to work as a separate product. The Evotix record says Permit to Work, change control and lockout/tagout appear on the Enterprise page but not on the Professional page, and describes a separate environmental permit page. Ask each vendor to map the three items to a named product or edition. If any item lands in a separate order or a higher edition, rebuild the cost around that map.
What the records do not establish
VelocityEHS
- A subscription amount, billing term or minimum seat count: no pricing page was found.
- Offline environmental reporting, GHG calculation or permit approval.
- That electronic permit to work or contractor safety comes with the safety applications.
- That an ergonomics score or an AI recommendation is right without competent review.
Evotix
- Any subscription figure, and how large the one-time implementation fee is.
- Offline use of the chemical modules, or offline dictation.
- That permit to work, change control or lockout/tagout belong to Professional.
- The edition, forms and electronic submission behind the OSHA and RIDDOR tracking.
Neither product
- Whether either shortens investigations or cuts recordable cases: no outcome data was reviewed.
- Which regulator will accept a given output: both records leave jurisdiction and submission duties with the buyer.
- Other customers' experience, since neither record contains an independent review.
