Where the two scopes differ
These records describe different kinds of evidence. In the Acoem record the software exists to serve the group's own measuring equipment. Cadence is the cloud side, linking compatible noise and vibration monitors to dashboards, notifications and AI-suggested source labels; Airodis is the desktop side, pulling logger data into SQL Server so reviewers can mark readings valid or invalid, with a reason on file, before reports go out on a schedule. The SiteDocs record covers field paperwork: signed mobile forms, form templates restricted to selected locations, certification records for workers, follow-up forms linked to flagged items and monitoring by administrators. Workforce Management, SiteDocs Lite for external workers, Analytics and connectors need package confirmation. The record separates it from a similarly named clinical-trial product.
Freshness and connectivity are described differently. Acoem's pages mention logger downloads as often as every ten seconds and real-time alerts that still depend on the instrument, telemetry and site connection; the record leaves backfill after an outage unestablished. SiteDocs analytics refresh about every five to six hours for some data and daily or weekly for other data, so the record warns against reading dashboards as live. Its mobile app works offline only after a login and sync, the web app is unavailable offline, and history and attachments depend on storage settings.
Neither vendor publishes software prices, and trial evidence is thin on both sides. For Acoem, the Airodis page leads to a price request and the Cadence page to an access form whose terms are not given, and the record wants software priced apart from hardware, installation and service. SiteDocs describes yearly pricing set by company size that includes logins for workers and no cap on forms or signatures, with a first call needed before a quote; an older per-user catalogue figure is unverified and a self-service trial is not established. SiteDocs states SOC 2 on its trust page, without a type, and names ISO 27001 on one regional version, with no report or certificate reviewed; the Acoem record lists no certification.

When each is the safer first demo
Start with Acoem (Cadence and Airodis) when
Make Acoem the first call if the data you must defend comes from instruments. Ask for a month of readings from your logger models to be downloaded, an hour invalidated with a reason and then reversed, a scheduled report produced, and ten exceedance labels compared with recordings, with every model and software version written down.
Start with SiteDocs when
Make SiteDocs the first call if the evidence you must produce is signed paperwork from crews. Ask to see a briefing completed offline after preparing the app, a form with several worker signatures, a flagged item turned into a follow-up form, and an external company reaching only the forms you choose.
A two-week evaluation plan
Ask Acoem (Cadence and Airodis)
- Which Windows, SQL Server or cloud and device requirements apply to the product quoted, and who maintains them after installation?
- Which documents will replace the October 2021 datasheet for API, residency, retention, backup and service levels?
Ask SiteDocs
- Which package, worker population, SiteDocs Lite scope, Analytics and connectors does the annual quote include, and what do setup and renewal add?
- Which forms, photos and PDFs stay available offline under the storage settings you would use, and what does Online-Only Mode change?
Week 1: pull a month of data from two logger models into Airodis, mark an hour invalid with a stated reason, undo that edit and read the audit log. In SiteDocs, prepare the app while connected, complete a briefing and add the permitted signatures with the device offline, then reconnect and confirm the record in the Admin Panel. Neither vendor shows a verified free trial; request demonstration access, test users and dates up front.
Week 2: choose one week and export the instrument data and the signed forms, then compare timestamps and time zones. In SiteDocs, set a test certification to expire and follow the notification and the analytics report, noting the refresh delay. Ask Acoem which calibration and device-health records its software holds. End with itemised first-year quotes that separate software from instruments and services.
Worked evaluation scenarios
These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.
Hypothetical: a council asks for a week of readings and the matching site records
A council asks a quarry operator for one week of noise readings together with the signed daily briefings for the same days. The Acoem record says Airodis downloads logger data into a SQL Server database, with timestamp alignment depending on the driver, protocol and station time zone. The SiteDocs record describes signed forms with location points, and analytics that refresh on a schedule of several hours or longer rather than in real time. Export both sets for the same week and lay the timestamps side by side. If the two use different time zones or the signed forms arrive in the office hours later, name the person who reconciles them before the submission.
Hypothetical: a two-person environmental team with no IT support
An environmental officer and a safety lead share one small site office and have no IT department. The Acoem record says Airodis needs a computer running Windows 10 or newer, a SQL Server database and a software key, and that driver changes can force manual remapping of channels and reports, while Cadence is a cloud service. The SiteDocs record describes a mobile app to prepare before going offline, storage settings that control which history stays on the device, and a web app that is online only. Ask each vendor which installation, upgrade, backup and storage duties fall to the customer. If a duty has no owner, add it to the handover list.
Hypothetical: a competence certificate and a calibration certificate expire together
In the same month an acoustician's competence certificate lapses and a monitor's calibration certificate falls due. The SiteDocs record describes worker certification records with chat notifications before and at expiry, and says alerts do not suspend access or confirm competence. The Acoem record says measurement quality depends on correctly calibrated instruments and does not describe calibration tracking inside either software product. Enter the worker certificate in SiteDocs and note who is told and when, then ask Acoem which calibration and device-health records Cadence or Airodis holds. If the instrument record lives in a spreadsheet, record that gap and name its owner.
What the records do not establish
Acoem (Cadence and Airodis)
- Any amount for Cadence, Airodis or the monitors, and the conditions attached to Cadence access.
- Whether monitor data is buffered and backfilled after a communications outage.
- That the AI source labels are right without a check against recordings.
- Calibration tracking, which the record does not describe for either Acoem product.
SiteDocs
- A subscription amount: the earlier per-user catalogue figure is unverified.
- Offline use through the web app, which the vendor says is unavailable.
- That a certification reminder suspends access or confirms competence.
- Free external-worker access through SiteDocs Lite, or a self-service trial.
Neither product
- Whether either product helps a site pass an inspection or reduces complaints: nothing of that kind was measured.
- How current users feel about each, since neither record includes independent reviews.
- Results from testing the products yourselves.
