Where the two scopes differ
These records describe different jobs. The Acoem record covers software built around the group's own instruments: Cadence, a cloud service for suitable noise and vibration monitors with dashboards, alerts, AI-assisted source labels and compliance reports, and Airodis, Windows and SQL Server software that collects logger data, lets reviewers validate it with recorded reasons and sends scheduled reports. The Assignar record covers construction operations: crew scheduling with qualification and expiry records, configurable forms with owners and review statuses, site diaries and timesheets. The record cautions that filling in an incident or permit form does not by itself give a buyer a specialist investigation tool or a permit-to-work process.
Dependencies sit in different places. For Acoem they are the monitors, their calibration, firmware and communications, and the record asks for each device, protocol and version to be matched to a published compatibility list; Cadence and Airodis are separate licences, and the public security and API datasheet for Cadence is dated October 2021. For Assignar they are the operations scope, regional product scope and integrations: partner connectors, import and export, and public API access offered as an add-on. Security statements also differ: Assignar's trust centre lists compliance with SOC 2 Type I and ISO 27001 (report and certificate unseen), while the Acoem record lists no certification and asks for any accreditation to be matched to the entity, service or instrument it covers.
Neither vendor publishes software prices. Acoem offers a pricing request for Airodis and a request form for Cadence whose terms and duration are not stated; the record asks for software to be quoted apart from instruments, installation, communications and calibration. Assignar's pricing page leads to a demo and a test drive, and the record does not establish an unrestricted free trial. Both records leave open how each tool behaves under poor connectivity: Cadence backfill, and Assignar attachment and conflict handling.

When each is the safer first demo
Start with Acoem (Cadence and Airodis) when
Take Acoem to the first session when you run, or are buying, its monitors and the first requirement is defensible noise or air data. Ask for ten labelled exceedances to be compared with recordings by your acoustician, and a month of logger data validated with reasons, reversed once and reported, with every model and version named.
Start with Assignar when
Take Assignar to the first session when crews, tickets and daily paperwork share one bottleneck. Ask for a worker with an expired credential to be scheduled, a site diary signed and then edited from the dashboard, and a form completed offline, noting which scheduling signals warn and which block.
A two-week evaluation plan
Ask Acoem (Cadence and Airodis)
- Which monitor models, firmware versions and loggers are in scope, and are Cadence, Airodis, instruments, communications, calibration and field service quoted as separate lines?
- Can current API, data-residency, retention, backup and service-level documents be supplied, given that the public datasheet dates from October 2021?
Ask Assignar
- Which Operations features, field users, dashboard users and regional scope does the quote name, with any Pay offering and the API add-on on separate lines?
- Which forms, assignments and documents work offline, and how are attachments and conflicting edits handled?
Week 1: take one Cadence monitor offline for an hour and check whether the gap is backfilled, flagged or lost, and download a month from two logger models into Airodis. In Assignar, fill in an equipment check and a timesheet with the connection off, reconnect and compare the record. Neither record shows a verified free trial, so agree access, test users and dates with each vendor first.
Week 2: have your acoustician compare ten Cadence labels with recordings, and in Airodis invalidate an hour with a reason, reverse it and check the log and the scheduled report. In Assignar, schedule a worker whose credential has lapsed and see whether the system warns or blocks, then edit a signed diary from the dashboard. Finish with a quote check that lists every instrument, connector and add-on you used.
Worked evaluation scenarios
These scenarios are hypothetical. They show how to turn the record facts into a demo test and what outcome would change a choice; they are not case studies or customer results.
Hypothetical: a road-widening site with complaints about evening noise
Residents beside a road-widening site complain about evening noise, and the contractor runs monitors on the boundary. The Acoem record describes Cadence alerts and noise exceedances with main and secondary source labels that need checking against recordings. The Assignar record describes configurable forms with routed owners and review statuses, plus supervisor site diaries, and lists its public API as an add-on. Trigger a known activity, such as a breaker, and see how Cadence labels it. Then record the corrective step in an Assignar form and note how the exceedance reference reaches it, by hand or through an interface. If the link is manual, name the person who owns it each evening.
Hypothetical: a regulator and a client each ask who changed a record
A regulator asks who altered a monitoring reading, and a client asks who altered a signed daily diary. The Acoem record describes Airodis recording a reason whenever data is edited, with a reversible audit log and marked edits. The Assignar record notes that editing a diary from the web dashboard can swap the supervisor's signature and drop the client's, and flags amendment controls for review. Invalidate an hour of readings with a reason in Airodis, reverse it, and read the log. Then edit a signed diary from the Assignar dashboard and read what the history shows. If a signature change leaves no visible trace, add a procedural control to your rollout plan.
Hypothetical: a tunnel portal where the signal comes and goes
A tunnel portal has coverage that comes and goes through the day, and both a monitor and a supervisor need to keep working. The Acoem record describes Cadence as cloud-delivered, with live dashboards, remote configuration and alerts depending on being online, and does not establish whether a monitor's buffered data is backfilled. The Assignar record cites a help article on automatic and manual offline modes that covers listed items from a given app version, with attachment and conflict behaviour left unestablished. Disconnect a monitor for an hour, and take a phone offline to complete a form and a timesheet. Compare what is flagged, what is lost and what reconciles. If a gap stays silent, add an alert or a manual check.
What the records do not establish
Acoem (Cadence and Airodis)
- A price for Cadence, Airodis or the instruments, or the terms and duration of Cadence access.
- How monitors hold data during an outage, or whether Cadence fills the gap afterwards.
- That the AI source labels are right for your site: the record treats them as decision support.
- Current API, security and data-residency terms beyond the October 2021 datasheet.
Assignar
- A public subscription amount, or an unrestricted free trial.
- Offline attachment handling, conflict behaviour or recovery beyond the items the help article lists.
- That scheduling signals block a worker with a missing credential: they are described as decision aids.
- The content of the SOC 2 Type I report or ISO 27001 certificate shown on the trust centre.
Neither product
- Which product reduces complaints, exceedances or incidents: no outcome data was reviewed.
- Experience of existing customers, because neither record includes an independent review sample.
- A practical test outcome for either product.
