Which requirements should drive the decision?

Editorial interpretation of the linked vendor documentation, checked . These priorities and demo tasks are recommendations; no comparative product test was performed.

    Consider Mitti (by SafetyCulture) when…

    • A defined group of inspectors runs varied checklists across sites, vehicles or equipment, and the value lies in the issues and actions raised from them.
    • You want to prove the workflow on the Free plan or the 14-day Premium trial before any sales conversation.
    • US sites need OSHA 300, 300A and 301 logs produced from the incident investigation.
    Published scope

On 25 September 2026 the pricing page listed Free for teams of up to 10 with 5 active inspection templates and Premium at $24 per seat a month on annual billing or $29 month to month, before tax; Enterprise and a per-location price that covers unlimited users at a site are quoted. Seat type governs how much a person can do: a free guest seat allows up to 3 inspections, a lite seat 1 a month or 12 a year, and only a full seat opens an investigation. The mobile app works offline once content is prepared, but analytics, notifications, lone worker and the template editor stay online. The account-free QR route runs in a browser and asks for contact details. Investigations produce OSHA Forms 300, 300A and 301 as PDF or CSV.

    Consider SiteDocs when…

    • Every field worker, including short-term crews, signs daily forms and toolbox talks, so a per-seat price would grow with headcount.
    • Supervisors need to open one worker and see every signed form and certificate, with reminders before a certificate expires.
    • Subcontractor companies should see a short menu of forms through a link rather than holding full accounts.
    Published scope

The pricing page read on 25 September 2026 describes an annual subscription sized to the company, logins for all workers, unlimited forms and signatures and a profile that keeps every worker's current and past signatures and certifications; an initial call sets the quote. The overview adds automated certification reminders for workers, contractors and supervisors, forms and toolbox talks scheduled to repeat, and a to-do list that shows each worker only the forms assigned to them. The mobile app works without signal after login and sync and uploads on reconnection; the web app needs a connection, and whether old photos or PDFs open offline depends on device storage settings. External companies take part through SiteDocs Lite links configured in Workforce Management. A signed form records a check; it does not authorise a task.

Run these three tasks in both demos

    1. Run a toolbox talk signed by a five-person crew, one of whom holds an expired certificate.

Acceptance evidence: SiteDocs: add each signature with the multiple-signature permission on, check that the expiry reminder fired and open the talk from each worker's profile. Mitti: run the talk as an inspection with the seat mix you would buy and show whether a guest or lite limit stops anyone signing. In both, record who can see the result and where the expired certificate shows up.

    2. Prepare both apps, disconnect, complete a form with a photo, then reconnect after a supervisor has changed a related record.

Acceptance evidence: Check each step against Mitti's unsupported-offline list and SiteDocs' storage settings, then confirm receipt in Mitti's web app and the SiteDocs Admin Panel. Note how a conflict or a stuck upload is shown; a form finished on the device is not a record received in the office.

    3. Let a subcontractor company work at one site for a week, then end its access.

Acceptance evidence: SiteDocs: create the company and location link, expose two forms through SiteDocs Lite, then withdraw access and export the company's records. Mitti: use guest seats or the QR route for the same crew and do the same removal and export. Compare what each approach costs and what history remains for authorised reviewers.

    Keep the decision open if…

Keep either candidate pending if a required offline step was shown connected, a worker-history export or supervisor permission is untested, or a Mitti seat limit blocks recurring work in your seat mix. Neither record establishes a SiteDocs price, a Mitti Enterprise or per-location price, delivery or sync times, or a clinical, environmental or permit-to-work workflow; a signed SiteDocs form or a completed Mitti inspection is evidence of a check, not authorisation to start hazardous work.

    Align the proposals

Price the same headcount, sites, inspectors, supervisors and subcontractors both ways. For Mitti, name the full, lite and guest seats, ask for the per-location alternative where crews change often, and confirm currency and taxes. For SiteDocs, ask what company size the quote assumes, whether SiteDocs Lite and analytics are included, and what setup, integration and renewal add. A per-seat list price and a company-size annual quote are not directly comparable until both are turned into a first-year total for the same workforce.

    Where the two scopes differ

The guide above settles the main contrast, seats against the company-wide worker record. The records add a second one that affects how you would trial them: Mitti documents a free plan and a 14-day Premium trial, while the SiteDocs record shows no self-service trial and an earlier per-user catalogue amount that it does not treat as current. Mitti therefore lets a team try a template on its own work before a sales call; SiteDocs asks for a call and no self-service trial was established, so a first test is likely to happen in a vendor-led session.

The records also treat dashboards and exports differently. For SiteDocs, official sources describe Analytics as refreshed about every five to six hours, daily or weekly depending on the dataset, so it is not a live view. Mitti's record describes plan- and seat-dependent exports and notes that analytics is one of the features unavailable offline. Both records also caution against reading records as assurance: SiteDocs for signed forms, GPS points and certificate records, none of which authorises a task, and Mitti for completed inspections and training, which do not establish a governed audit or competence.

On connections, the SiteDocs record describes certification connectors for creating, updating and searching certification records and moving certificate images; the record says this moves data and does not validate a credential. Mitti's record ties third-party integration access to the plan, and investigations, the API and integrations to a full seat. Neither record names a connector to your systems.

When each is the safer first demo

Start with Mitti (by SafetyCulture) when

Mitti is the safer first demo when you cannot yet say how many people will inspect, review or only contribute. The Free plan and the trial give a way to test real work before a quote. Use the proposed seat mix, because the pricing page leaves open the seat type behind the Premium amount.

    Start with SiteDocs when

SiteDocs is the safer first demo when the main risk is paperwork volume: daily forms and briefings signed by many workers, and certificate expiries. Script the demo around those, including a certificate that expires during the session, and ask to see the Admin Panel receiving the uploaded record rather than the phone screen.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Mitti (by SafetyCulture)

    • Get written confirmation of the seat type that the published Premium amount applies to, the price of lite seats, and what billing does when the 14-day trial ends if payment details were supplied.
    • Ask which integrations and exports your plan includes, and which require a full seat.

    Ask SiteDocs

    • Ask what company size and worker count the annual quote assumes, and whether Workforce Management, SiteDocs Lite, Analytics and connectors are in it.
    • Ask how much of the Analytics refresh delay matters to your supervisors, and what the dashboard shows between refreshes.

Week 1, trial on Mitti with the seat mix you expect and one recurring checklist, reviewing the synchronised result against the list of features that need a connection. Set a reminder before the trial ends so that billing does not start unnoticed. For SiteDocs, book the vendor session early, log in and synchronise first, then queue a crew briefing with the connection off and confirm its arrival in the Admin Panel.

Week 2, the edge cases. On SiteDocs, repeat an offline form with photos and PDFs under the download settings you would use, and check that the web app is not expected to work offline. On Mitti, run the account-free QR route and the guest seat route for the same outside person and compare what each can see. End by pricing both for the same headcount for twelve months.

What the records do not establish

    Mitti (by SafetyCulture)

    • The seat type behind the Premium amount, and a price for Enterprise or per-location pricing.
    • Offline processing for voice-drafted issues.
    • That a completed inspection is a governed audit or independent corrective-action closure.

    SiteDocs

    • A current subscription amount; the earlier per-user figure is not verified.
    • A free trial, or a delivery time for uploads.
    • That alerts or reminders suspend access or confirm that a worker is competent.

    Neither product

    • A connector to your systems, or the effort to build one.
    • Clinical, environmental or permit-to-work workflows in either product.

Mitti (by SafetyCulture) vs SiteDocs | FAQ

Is this simply an inspection-app comparison?
No. The useful distinction is what the record is for after capture: follow-up of findings, a worker's documentation history, or both. Demonstrate retrieval from a worker's profile, removal of a leaver's access and export, as well as completing the form.
How do SiteDocs and Mitti charge for a large, changing crew?
SiteDocs quotes an annual price by company size with logins for all workers. Mitti charges per seat on Premium, with free guest seats that are limited to 3 inspections, and quotes per-location pricing with unlimited users at a site. Neither record makes one cheaper; cost the same crew both ways.
Can subcontractors use either product without a full account?
SiteDocs documents SiteDocs Lite links set up per external company and location in Workforce Management; confirm the package. Mitti offers registered guest seats and a browser QR route that asks for contact details. Test what each subcontractor can see and submit.
    Which product is cheaper?
Comparable total cost has not been established. Request the same applications, users, sites, configuration, migration, integrations and support period from both vendors. Published entry pricing is subject to the plan conditions shown in each profile.
How should I compare offline capability?
Use the exact proposed mobile application and plan. Download required data, disconnect, create a record with a photo, reconnect and inspect synchronization. Record which preparation and tasks require connectivity.
How should I decide between these products?
Set acceptance criteria for your actual workflow. Complete the same demo, record observed results separately from vendor statements and resolve remaining questions in a scoped pilot. The linked profiles show the sources and review status for each product.
