    Where the two scopes differ

Both records describe a mobile inspection product that turns a failed answer into an assigned action, and they draw the edge of the product in different places. The Lumiform record bounds scope by package: Professional and Enterprise, with approvals, API access, webhooks, single sign-on and advanced integrations either included in Enterprise or bought as Professional add-ons. It also notes that the vendor states there is no on-premises version. The Mitti record bounds scope by plan and then by seat: Free, Premium and Enterprise, with full, lite and guest seats, and investigations, the API and integrations reserved for a full seat. So the first question to put to Lumiform is which package, and the first question to put to Mitti is which seat each named person needs.

Beyond the checklist, the two records document different things. For Mitti they list investigations that download OSHA Forms 300, 300A and 301, assigned training with practical assessment, voice-assisted issue drafts and an account-free QR route that opens in a browser. None of those four appears in the Lumiform record. For Lumiform they list configurable forms with conditional logic and repeatable sections, recurring schedules, actions that carry an owner, priority, deadline and evidence with a change log, third-party assignment, and analytics over submitted forms, negative answers and overdue items. This is a statement about what each record reviewed, not about what either vendor sells. Both records also caution that a completed checklist is not a controlled record on its own: Lumiform notes that submitted reports can be edited and that template changes reach only future forms, and Mitti notes that its inspection process does not establish a governed audit programme.

Cost and access to a trial differ in kind. Lumiform publishes no numeric subscription, asks for a quote on both packages, and shows a trial as available only on request. Mitti publishes a per-seat Premium amount, a Free plan for up to ten users with five active templates, and a 14-day Premium trial. A published number next to a quote request is not a price comparison, because the Mitti record itself says the page does not state which seat type the Premium amount covers.

When each is the safer first demo

    Start with Lumiform when

Lumiform is the safer first demo when the problem is the recurring inspection cycle across several sites: a schedule assigns a form to a site or group, a critical answer forces a photo and creates an action, and a manager looks for exceptions and overdue items afterwards. Ask for the demonstration on the quoted package, with approvals shown or ruled out, and ask to see the outbox with a result that is waiting to upload. If your crews work in several languages, test the translated checklist content itself, because the record separates the app languages from the form content.

Start with Mitti (by SafetyCulture) when

Mitti is the safer first demo when you cannot yet say how many people will inspect, review or only contribute, or when OSHA log preparation, assigned training or a reporting route for people without accounts is on the requirement list. The Free plan and the trial let you test on real recurring work before a sales call. Run the test with the seat mix you expect, since the permissions that matter differ by seat type, and keep the account-free QR route separate from guest seats when you judge the outside reporter.

    A two-week evaluation plan

    Ask Lumiform

    • Ask for one quote for the whole workspace, with approvals, API, webhooks, single sign-on and each integration on its own line, plus currency, seat minimum, billing term and add-on pricing.
    • Ask which roles can edit a submitted report, whether a report can be locked, and how a template version is kept for inspections completed before a change.

    Ask Mitti (by SafetyCulture)

    • Ask in writing which seat type the published Premium amount covers, what a lite seat costs, whether AI credits are topped up separately and what billing does when the trial ends.
    • Ask which exports and which third-party integrations your plan includes, and which of them need a full seat rather than a lite or guest one.

Week 1, the same inspection on both. Build or import one real checklist with a photo requirement and a rule that raises an action on a failed answer. Prepare a phone, disconnect it, complete the inspection with a defect photo, then reconnect and check that the office sees the result and the photo. On Lumiform look at the outbox before reconnecting and then check whether the new action appears without a manual swipe-down sync. On Mitti, compare what you prepared against the list of features the record says are unavailable offline. Lumiform shows a trial only on request, so book a vendor-run environment early.

Week 2, the people and the paper around the checklist. On Lumiform, change the template after some inspections are complete, retrieve an earlier one, assign an action to an outside person and see what that person can open. On Mitti, create an investigation, download the OSHA forms from a test establishment and compare them with what your recordkeeper completes today, then run the QR route and a guest seat for the same outside person and compare visibility. End by writing both quotes for the same headcount over twelve months, with every conditional item priced.

What the records do not establish

    Lumiform

    • A numeric subscription price, the length or eligibility of a trial, or what a Professional add-on for approvals or API costs.
    • Whether voice-to-text works without a connection on a given device and language.
    • Whether a submitted report can be locked: the record says such reports can be edited and asks for a demonstration of version history and locks.

    Mitti (by SafetyCulture)

    • Which seat type the Premium amount covers, or any price for lite seats, Enterprise or location-based pricing.
    • Offline processing for voice-drafted issues, or direct submission of OSHA data rather than a file for upload.
    • That a completed inspection works as a governed audit with independent closure of corrective actions.

    Neither product

    • Relative implementation time, total cost, user satisfaction or fit with your regulator: both records are reviews of vendor documentation, not trials.
    • A connector to your own systems, or the work and cost of building one.
